Changes that can be expected in the 2015 Toyota Highlander

Although the manufacturer has remained rather hush about the features and specifications of the 2015 Toyota Highlander, going through spy images of the car has left little to wonder about. The one thing for sure is that the manufacturer is putting in the best of its efforts to make the model one of the best in its line.

The new Highlander is expected to offer an even more comfortable cargo. The ‘space’ aspect is being given ample significance for this model, which is why comfort will have high priority. On the whole, the capacity of this car is going to be extended to a good measure. Speculations are that the inner cargo space is going to be enhanced by a full 34%. This aspect is also going to play a major role in giving the exteriors of the car a more robust look.

Its interior design is going to go through a massive change considering the amount of space being added to it. The seats are expected to be made of softer materials. Even the steering wheel is being given a redesign, and new leather seat covers will be added too. A fully loaded automatic trip control technique, and a high definition touch screen display will be a part of the interiors too.

Engine Options:

The new 2015 Toyota Highlander will have two power options. The first is the 2.7 liter, 4-cylinder engine. On the other hand, there is also the 3.5 liter V6 engine that has the potential to produce a 270 pound-feet of torque and is paired with 6-speed auto transmission. However, there is a 3.5 liter V6 engine as well that is backed by three electrical motors, and an electric battery pack. It has the ability to produce nearly 280 horse power. This particular engine is expected to be matted with Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT.

This model is expected to offer enhanced fuel efficiency of about 18 mpg in the city, and 24 mpg on the high way. Comparing that to its predecessors, the car sure is a whole lot more fuel-efficient.

Price & Release Date:

The release date of the car has not been officially announced as of yet. However, speculations are that it will be available at the end of 2014, whereas sales will commence in the first half of 2015. The price for the base FWD LE version is anticipated to be nearly $30,000, whereas the Limited version will cost around $40, 000. On the other hand, the 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited will bear a price tag of about $48, 000.

Model for 2016 is not yet announced, but we expect that it will probably be best SUV for 2016 model year.
