Are You Holding A Stop Light Affair

We all remember that infamous hit sung by Eddie Murphy - titled Roxanne you don’t have to put on a red light. Did the song just resonate inside your head as we take a moment to sing it together. While we are in the moment of things to remember; we have all had our daily stops at that very same LIGHT. Yes the same light you were trying to beat the other day. I am unsure whether you had taken notice, but many things go on while sitting at this light. Your car suddenly comes to a stop when the light turned from yellow to red. You hesitate to look over at the other person in the lane next to you. Go On - you know you want too, take a look, yes you - turn your head. Are you the one who normally does this, the one who is so afraid to look over at your fellow driver that you demand to keep your head straight pointed in the direction of travel.

Every once in a while we need to take a peek, because you never know. I am sure you have seen your fair share of things, such as woman putting on make -up, guys trying to pull you over to hit on you, or even more stranger someone trying to wash your windshield even though it was not even dirty. I am glad for the moment I took to look over while I was stopped at the light. Over to my left and standing in a grocery store parking lot was a man who was a blazed with so much anger, he was letting his gun do the talking for him. I sat there at this Red Light and watched in terrified surprise as I saw him shoot bullet after bullet into the store’s main entrance. On another occasion I watched in horror as a wrong way driver intent to escape the custody of the law plowed through the very same RED Light I was stopped at. Then we have those folks who think the RED Light means “you better go as fast as you can through it. Just make sure you do not hit anything. Red Light antics have been in play for quite some time now as some of you may already know. Sometimes we all need to take a breathe and slow down. The next time your at the Red Light look over you might see me giving off a smile in your direction. Here are just a few of the same scenarios I encountered while sitting at a Red Light.
