Avant Audi A4 | For the Young Professional

The recent edition of Avant Audi A4 has some new features and a lot more interior space. The beefed-up dimensions do not impair the wagon's manner in the least. The rear portion of the Avant is very well thought out. The longer wheelbase provides the rear-seat occupants ample space to put their legs down, and there's enough headroom to house a six-footer like myself. I had the pleasure of taking the Avant Audi A4 out on some back country roads. Albeit my parents were the ones looking to purchase it but I decided to tag along and attempt to review. Practice for a future profession maybe?

Once I was able to get behind the wheel the MMI (multi-media interface) is surprisingly easy to get the hang of, the audio package was great for a young man such as myself and the heated sport bucket seats made it feel like I was behind an A5 or S5(what I really wanted to take out). Then the options, the navigation system with backup camera to its Side Assist system all providing the exclusivity one comes to appreciate.

Now to my favorite part: the skinny pedal. The Avant Audi A4 s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder feeds its power to the rubber through a six-speed automatic transmission (boring) with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters (not so boring)

Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive is power train delivers ten fold. The engine musters out 211 horsepower and, more significantly, 258 pound-feet of torque at just 1,500 rpm or from what I could see when driving. I didn’t have all the professional grade testing equipment so I just parsed it from the brochure. Of the Avant Audi A4 's features, the most sophisticated one is the Drive Select system (DSM). This allows the driver to modify the car to match the driving conditions. In the Comfort mode (yawn), the steering is light, the transmission and throttle operate in a subdued manner and the suspension is submissive. In Dynamic mode the Avant Audi A4 firms up the suspension considerably, improves the steering feel, advances throttle response. The Auto mode transfers back and forth between the comfort and dynamic modes as needed.

The suspension has you riding-on-rails and the response to steering input and a flat attitude through a fast corner. Tapping the paddle shifters delivers lightning quick up shifts and the preferred engine braking with every down shift.

With the Avant Audi A4 has fashioned a grocery getter that is energetic beyond anticipation. What really surprised me, is that the wagon's balance which is accomplished through superior engineering. I was grateful I decided to tag along with my parents.
