Don't Drink And Drive - Hand Over The Keys And Save Lives
Taking That Chance Is like Rolling the Dice
Swallow Your Pride and Hand over the Keys
Everyone sometime or another has made the big mistake of getting behind the wheel and driving after a few or sometimes many alcoholic drinks.
It just so happens that we made it to our destination without incident that time, but I would imagine ones luck may run out someday and it may be the biggest downfall of your life, if you survive. You just may change someone you know or may not know lives forever by your irresponsible actions just by one stupid mistake called, drinking and driving.
We all know exactly what I am referring to and that is don't drink and drive, hand over the keys and save lives.
Each and every time someone makes it home safe after drinking alcohol they feel as if I made it home this time and I can make it the next time and so on.
That may very well be with some luck by your side, but there is always that first time that can change your life and someone else forever.
One More off Our Roads
Arrested but Alive This Time
I'm sure those that have been drinking alcohol for the good part of the evening never thought when they jumped into their car and drove home they had a good chance of being pulled over by Law Enforcement.
Many years ago, although drinking and driving was still frowned upon, many people got away with it, even when pulled over, because many years ago there wasn't the high tech equipment Police have nowadays.
We saw the red and blue light and we popped a piece of gum or whatever we had to hide the smell of alcohol, so we thought.
We might of had to do the field sobriety test and we passed it and most were let go, but today it's not that easy.
Our Law Enforcement Officers are very well trained in visual and other ways to tell if someone may be under the influence of alcohol and I think it is great. By having these officers so well trained and with all the high tech devices there is no way that we will be able to trick or try to foul these officers.
Hand over Those Keys
Drink Responsibly
As I write many of my articles and Hubs I tell all that by no means I am totally against drinking alcohol. I had many of great times drinking alcohol and then not so great too.
Drinking responsibly is what many of us do not practice and we should learn this very important thing. By doing so, we saves lives, and one life just might be your own.
There are those that have beaten the odds and got away with many drinking and driving nights out, but there will be a time, no one knows when, that something will happen, whether it be getting pulled over and being arrested for a DUI or someone may crash their car as they drive basically blinded by their alcohol consumption that day or evening.
Don't let this be you or someone you know or care about. Think before you drink and drink responsibly and if by chance you had one too many, hand over the keys to someone that is the designated driver and if one is not available call for a ride or call a taxi for a safe ride home.
