Ready, Set, GO!

 After an evap repair on a Toyota you want to confirm everything is working and pass smog. Use these steps to run the evap monitor to complete.

This procedure requires the car to sit overnight.

 

Make the fuel tank 1/2-3/4 full tank. Clear all codes and park the car for 8 hours. Leave gas door open.

Remove and replace gas cap.  Start engine and idle with A/C on high, headlight on and rear window defrost activated. Run the car at idle until the coolant temp reaches 167.

Rev the engine in park to 3000 RPM and hold it for 15 seconds. Now back to idle. Watch the evap monitor with scan tool until ready or a malfunction appears.
