For the lovers of cars ...
I have been shooting photographs of cars for over ten years now. I have boxes full of photos from car shows. It is not a secret: I love cars and I love driving!
At some point last month, I went into the town of Rosseau, Muskoka to get a pie and some coffee when my buddy and I noticed that there was quite the commotion around. Rosseau is a tiny town: one general store, one liqueur store (here in Ontario you can only buy alcohol at a government owned "Liquor Store"), a couple of places to buy coffee and that is about it. Therefore, when we saw the multitude of people walking around and cars parked on the sidewalk, my good friend and I decided to investigate.
It did not take long, by following the crowds to find that there was a car show going on. There were no tickets to be bought - there was just a box to drop-off a donation: whatever one could give was enough. I put-in a twenty for the two of us and we just wandered-around for a while.
I love colours and I think the cars there were not just cars. In my opinion those were works of art. I know many would probably disagree but for a car enthusiast - that morning was fantastic. I forgot all about the pie, coffee and everything. All our other friends had to wait back at the cottage for us for quite a while.
My buddy Ali and I fully enjoyed our time there though. We got lost between the cars, talked to people and had a great time altogether. I was extremely surprised that there were so many cars there (for such a little town). I was not aware that Rosseau held such car shows and I think I will make a point in going there next year too, if I am in the surrounding area.
