Earth's non renewable source of energy- fuels

Why Should we save Fuel ?

As the title suggests I am trying to convince, all you people to save fossil fuels. Can you Imagine world without petrol and diesel?

What is Fuel efficiency ? It is a form of thermal efficiency which converts chemical potential energy which is in carrier fuel into kinetic energy. For any particular vehicle it is the ratio of distance travelled to fuel consumed.

As fuels, coals, petroleum are not renewable sources of energy like bagas, solar power, wind. We should keep one thing in mind that, whenever we are using these fuels in cars, bikes & other automobiles, we are finishing fuels.

Human invented so many technologies for usage and to get more amenities. But we have forgotten that, these inventions also have some limitations, drawbacks. Human discovered some engines and developed those day by day. Consumption of fuels increased day by day as more people are using vehicles.

Fossil fuels has been created by nature, deep in to ocean we found storages of petroleum and from this we get petrol, diesel, LPG, black wax, kerosene. Thousands of Millenniums, Thousands of years has been required for conversion of petroleum and then we get fuels to be spited from that.

So many of you are aware of wastage of fuels, but nobody things about future, as what we will do when this storage will come to an end. There are very few people who don’t waste fuel.

Now a days due to rich lives, living standards, so many people are using cars, bikes, private planes and so using fuels in large extent.

When distance is walk able, we use vehicles to save time and our body energy so wasting money. The truth is that when all fuel would come to an end , we will have to walk or travel with bicycles or by using horses and bulls like in old days. This will be the extreme scenario. I don’t say that there is no option for us other than those. Because man invented electronics cars, solar bikes etc.

But those are expensive or have more drawbacks than that of automobiles.

So many people are aware of this fact and so we can see some advertises on TV. So are trying to save fuels. At the other end there are also extra rich people those have more than enough money to waste so they wastes their money by wasting non renewable fuels by using cars, private planes, yots etc. As those people have bad habits of long drives trips only for enjoyment. Such things should be avoided by all of us. Then and then only we will be able to save fuels for more use in future and so can save money.

To save storage of some of the fuel for future don’t waste petrol, diesel, aircraft fuel, LPG.

Request to people around you not to do so. Don’t feel shy to tell them at heavy traffics & signals whenever you see people wasting fuels.

I am requesting you all people to follow or try at lest below things:

How we are wasting non renewable fuel

· By not turning off vehicles in heavy traffics and stop signals.

· By Unnecessary usage of cars for transport of a single person

· By Long drives and trips for fun.

· Driving cars on higher speeds.

· Car racings as F1races & such things for our entertainment.

· Using cars & bikes for walk able distances.

· Using sport bikes, cars with low mileage only for its esthetics or looks.

How we should save fuel

· Don’t speed up your vehicles unnecessarily.

· Drive vehicles at suggested optimum seeds so you can save 30 % of fuel.

· Use vehicles for longer distances as u can do combine trips or use buses, trains or public transports.

· Improve your vehicles mileage by regular oil change and servicing.

· Avoid using air-conditions unnecessarily.

· Drive vehicles on higher gear

Why fuel efficiency of petrol vehicles and diesel vehicles are different?

There are many fuel types like regular gasoline petrol, premium gasoline petrol, petrol, diesel, Bio diesel, aviation gasoline, jet fuel etc. Each fuel has different efficiency. Why? Because energy content of each fuel is different. The specific energy content of a fuel is the heat energy obtained when a certain quantity is burned (such as a gallon, liter, kilogram). It is sometimes called the heat of combustion.

There exists two different values of specific heat energy for the same batch of fuel. One is the high (or gross) heat of combustion and the other is the low (or net) heat of combustion. The high value is obtained when, after the combustion, the water in the exhaust is in liquid form. For the low value, the exhaust has all the water in vapor form (steam). Since water vapor gives up heat energy when it changes from vapor to liquid, the liquid water value is larger since it includes the latent heat of vaporization of water. The difference between the high and low values is significant, about 8 or 9%. This accounts for most of the apparent discrepancy in the heat value of gasoline. In the U.S. (and the table below) the high heat values have traditionally been used, but in many other countries, the low heat values are commonly used.

Fuel consumption: Is the amount of fuel used per unit distance

Fuel economy: Is the distance travelled per unit volume of fuel used.

Avoiding throttling through recurring acceleration and using brakes, switching your engine off when in traffic and minimising the use of clutch can increase your fuel efficiency.

Drive sensibly, drive safe. You would save fuel as well as your money.
