Special Racing Corvair Corsa Steering Wheels

Before You Buy
In 1965-66 only, the Corsa model could be bought with a special steering wheel shown below. It was racy and special only to Corvairs. The steering wheel now demands a premium cost ranging from $200-400 or more. There was a wood version and a plastic simulated wood version. These steering wheels will usually only fit on the 65-66 models because in those years, Corvair used a smaller diameter column shaft. The steering wheel was either riveted onto the adapter (almost 5” long) as a single piece, or with telescoping shafts, was not riveted but used a special adapter. Without this adapter, the steering would be very close to the dash and for most, not comfortable.
If you buy one on ebay, make sure you either have this special adapter made for this year of corvair or make sure the adapter comes with it, as without it, you may find it a big problem in attaching it to the shaft and may be a waste of money. If the seller does not have the adapter, before you buy, find one or do not buy.
