Tata Motor and Maruti Suzuki unveiled new cars: Megapixel

Tata Unveils Megapixel:

Tata motors; the leading car maker in India launched their new car called Megapixel at the Geneva Motor show. It is new four seated smart Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) concept. It is an environmental friendly vehicle.

Tata explained it as a combination of a lithium ion phosphate battery and an on board petrol engine generator for recharging while the car moves. In a single tank of fuel it can offer a range up to 900km, emits only 22gm/km and good fuel economy of a 100km / litre. Megapixel comes with ‘Zero Turn’ drive system for better movement and control. It offers a turning radius of 2.8 meters & it is obtained with the help of four independent electric motors fitted to each wheel.

Charging of Megapixel is very convenient as it can be charged with the help of the induction charge system, just park the car on it. Its graphics and lamps are extremely suitable for International standard. It offers a great feeling to the driver with floating C-piller and wrap around belt line finisher. It provides superb visibility and entry-exit is very easy with a double sliding door system.

Megapixel can accommodate 4 adults; its streamlined finishing and human machine interface touch screen system help to deliver to drive in a smooth manner. It will available in india only by 2015.It is priced at Rs 4,00000 India.

Maruti launched Ertiga:

Maruti launched 'Ertiga MPV' at Delhi with introducery price of Rs 5.89laks for LXi, Rs 6.60laks for VXi, Rs 7.30laks for ZXi, Rs 7.30laks for LDi, Rs 7.90 for VDi,Rs 8.45 laks for ZDi.The awaited Ertiga is coming with both petrol and diesel variant. Petrol variant is powered by K-series 14VVT 1.4l petrol engine and offers a mileage of 16.02 Kmpl. For diesel, it is coming with 1.3DDis engine provides a mileage of 20.77Kmpl.

Maruti tells that, Ertiga can accommodate 7 adults (2x3x2) with good luggage capacity. Ertiga is made from Maruti Swift platform. Its compact dimensions make it easy to park and control. Ertiga launched in Indian market with petrol engine delivers a peak performance at 70Kw@6000rpm and a torque of 130 Nm@4000rpm. Diesel engine launched in India delivers a peak power of 66Kw@4000rpm and torque of 200Nm@1750rpm.

It has a bold and aggressive look. The designers tried maximum to improve the feature with central theme ‘togetherness’ for young Indian versatile customers. Ertiga comes with compact dimensions (max: lenth: 4265cm, Width: 1695m, Height: 1685cm). The premium interiors of Ertiga exude confidence, elegance, class, versatile character and agility.

The interior of Ertiga comes with 3-spoke tilt adjustable electric steering, Twin AC, Audio system (USB compatible, 4+2 speaker), steering mounted audio control, central door locking, Keyless entry, Meter information display, power windows with auto down and electrically adjustable mirror.

In India, MPV+SUV have shown 12-13% growth in last four years. Mahindra Bolero, Tata sumo Victa are the main opponents for Maruti Ertiga. Maruti is planning to sale around 5,000 units of Ertiga.
