Barrett-Jackson, the largest and most respected of all of the American auto auction companies, recently held its four day car show, auction and gala at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. With 40 years of experience and a tremendous reputation, Barrett-Jackson definitely knows how to showcase its client's prized possessions.
Before the auction began, Barrett-Jackson held its Opening Night Gala on Thursday, June 23, 2011. The gala featured live entertainment, food, cocktails, a fashion show, and of course, cars. Attendees got to be the first to preview many of the impeccable automobiles that were waiting to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
On June 24 -26, 2011, Barrett-Jackson held its second annual Orange County auction. Ticket holders were treated to a live auction, drifting demonstrations, ride and drives, and the ability to see the auctioned cars up close. The event even featured a Kid's Car Zone, as well as a ferris wheel and skyrides for the younger crowd. For those without tickets, SPEED TV covered the events on television.
This company considers itself a pure auction company, as the vast majority of the cars are auctioned off with no reserve required to be met. Only a select few cars are allowed to be auctioned off with a reserve being required to be met prior to them being sold. Most go to the highest bidder, regardless of the final price paid for them. Buyers can actually get some really great deals on beautifully maintained cars at this event. All buyers are required to be registered, and must go through a credit check and income/asset verification prior to being allowed to bid.
