Why You Should Buy the $50,000 Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition

Updated on July 19, 2018

The Alfa Romeo 4C was first announced at the Geneva Autoshow in 2011 as a concept car, and 2 years later, the 4C finally went into production. Since then, thousands of examples of the 4C have been released and purchased, but over time, none of them have truly kept their value. But in 2015, Alfa Romeo launched the 4C "Launch Edition," which to them was an attempt at creating a special car that would retain its value. But as time goes on, this low production car (Only 600 were ever made) has slowly gone up in value, reaching upwards of $50,000. Although this may not seem like much, the margin for profit is massive, and is something you should get your hands on quickly. Here's why I think this car will triple in value.

1. The Market- Being someone who is constantly watching the market, I notice something similar to something I saw in 2008- The market is trading too high. Liquidation of assets is something that I have done, and something I feel is the best thing to do. But don't let this hold you back from buying rare or special cars. Right now is the perfect time to make these kinds of investments, whether it be the new Aston Martin DB11 AMR Signature Edition, or more specifically, the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition. I see it as being the perfect time to buy this car, as the price of this car is low, and it is a great time to have liquidated assets like automobiles.

2. High Demand- This specific Alfa Romeo will undoubtedly be in significantly high demand as we reach the end of this month. The incredibly limited production of this car and its low price has made it delectable, and its performance makes this an outstanding car to own. Alfa Romeo has proven to be quite a reputable brand, and one that does not come up short when trying to impress its customers. This is something many Alfa owners see, and is a reason why over 75% of them bought another Alfa. This limited edition Alfa is something I have heard to be in the sights of many Alfa Romeo enthusiasts, for they want the impeccable power of the 4C Limited Edition, and they know how collectible this car will be a couple of years down the road. Although this car is not in high demand right now, it will be very soon, so right now is the perfect time to purchase this motoring delight.

3. Performance Statistics- Although the Alfa Romeo is a small car, with what some may assume has a small engine, I can confidently counter that claim, having been behind the wheel of this piece of motoring perfection. The Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition has a little under 300 brake horsepower, and produces a smidge under 300-pound ft of torque. This car certainly does throw you back in your seat, and the top speed is over 150 mph. This is very impressive, but not very surprising, for the vehicle weights under 2,000 lbs. The aerodynamic design of the Alfa Romeo 4C was in the wraps for years, and in the end, Alfa came out with a vehicle that was affordable and could do a little over 7 mins around the Nurburgring. This is truly the supercar bargain of the century, and provides great fun without breaking the bank.

To finish this article on why you should buy the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition, I would like to share my experience driving this amazing car.

It was October 2016, and I was on my way to Dover International Speedway, where I was told I would have the opportunity to drive the new Alfa Romeo 4C, and yes, it was a Launch Edition spec. When I first walked out onto the track, I was greeted by the 4 cylinder beauty, and in the classic Alfa Romeo paint "Rossa Alfa." One thing I noticed was the fragments of beautiful carbon fiber lined throughout the exterior of the car, which made the car look more aggressive, and in my opinion, better than a standard 4C. I was then handed the small black key that would spark energy in the small beast, and bring it to life. I got into the driver's seat, and was greeted with a feeling of protection and comfort, a feeling that I have never gotten from a sports car of that caliber. I turned the key and pressed firmly on the clutch, and from the rear side of the car, heard the growls of the 4 cylinder engine, and years of outstanding automotive innovation. It was ready. I was ready. I took the car out of neutral and slammed it into first gear. But what was that? What happened when I pushed down on the gas? All 300 horses rushed forward, pushing me far back into my seat. As I look at my speedometer, I noticed I was close to redlining. But how was that. I had only had my foot on the pedal for a matter of seconds, and with that, I was already impressed. I go into the first corner, unsure of what this demon could do, and to my surprise, took the corner like an absolute wonder, not sliding or even showing intentions of sliding. As I got to the straight I had been longing for, I finally had a chance to open this perfection of a car up. I put my foot down, and kept my hand on the finely clothed Alcantara shift knob, shifting as the car got comfortably up to 150 mph, then 155 mph, and oh my God, how much faster could this car go! I reached the corner where I had to slow down quickly, and with no surprise (from seeing what this car could already do), I slowed down enough to take the corner at 85 mph! I was so amazed by the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition by the end of my time spent at Dover Speedway, and would long for the next time I would be able to get behind the wheel of one of these beauties. This car was the definition of automotive perfection, and feeling I would hope to keep for the rest of my life.
