Trust T88

Updated on January 31, 2012

The Trust T88 series of turbochargers are certainly well known, and nearly expected to be found in this day and age on various high power Supra's, Skylines and RX7's. The T88 has been around for quite some time, with new units still comanding fairly high prices thanks to excellent build quality and legendary reliability and strength. The T88 comes in various sizes and flavors that suit different power goals and needs.

In Japan, there tends to be a lot of pride around how fast a certain car is while running a certain turbocharger, with shops constantly pushing their cars and their turbochargers to the limit in the pursuit of quicker quarter mile times. If you're into the quarter mile thing, and you are looking for quick ET's, you're going to need a big turbo to back you up.

The Trust T88 series of turbochargers aren't for everyone. They are absolutely massive beasts with power outputs of up to 1050hp. But if you absolutely must run the fastest time possible, and you have all the supporting mods required to pull it off, the T88 might be for you.

Trust T88 33D

The smallest of the T88 series of turbochargers is the T88-33D. Featuring a TD08 compressor with a 54 trim compressor housing, the T88-33D is for those who have just barely surpassed the power output capabilities of the T78 33D.

  • 90mm major diameter compressor
  • 66mm minor diameter compressor
  • 85mm outer diameter turbine
  • 72.3mm inner diameter turbine
  • 72 trim turbine
  • Available with 15cm or 18cm square, divided or v-band turbine outlet

Trust T88 34D

Featuring a slightly larger minor diameter on the compressor wheel, and a 60 trim compressor housing when compared to the T88 33D, the T88-34D is designed for those who are looking for power outputs of up to 880hp. With nearly identicle specs to the T88-33D, the 34D will be slightly laggier with transier reponse thanks to its slightly larger compressor wheel minor diameter. With appropriate supporting modifications however, the turbo should still be reasonable responsive in a drag type situation.

  • 90mm major diameter compressor wheel
  • 69.7mm minor diameter compressor wheel
  • 85mm outer diameter turbine
  • 72.3mm inner diameter turbine
  • 72 trim turbine
  • Available with 15cm,18cm or 22cm square, divided or v-band turbine outlet

Trust T88H 34D

Things are starting to get more serious now as we enter the realm of the T88H series of turbochargers. The T88H-34D features a 60 trim compressor and an airflow capacity that can reach 900hp. The T88H-34D features the same compressor housing and wheel specs as the T88-34D. It achieves its greater power potential by enlarging the turbine housing this time around. As such, a loss of transient response can be expected compared to the smaller T88 turbochargers.

  • 90mm major diameter compressor wheel
  • 69.7mm minor diameter compressor wheel
  • 90mm outer diameter turbine
  • 78.9mm inner diameter turbine
  • 77 trim turbine
  • Available with 18cm or 22cm divided or v-band turbine outlet

T88H 38GK

The T88H 38GK is the big gun of the T88 turbocharger family. Featuring a monsterous 98mm compressor wheel, this big guy flow enough air to support up to 1050hp reliably. The exhaust housing is the same when compared to the T88H-34D, with the additional airflow coming from a larger compressor setup.

  • 98mm major diameter compressor wheel
  • 75.9mm minor diameter compressor wheel
  • 85mm outer diameter turbine
  • 72.3mm inner diameter turbine
  • 72 trim turbine
  • Available with 18cm or 22cm divided or 94mm v-band turbine outlet
