Unconscious and Driving
Automatic driving
I just drove all the way cross town and I don't remember a single stop light, or intersection. Where did my wondering mind go? I spent the whole time thinking mundane thoughts. What would I do if I won the lottery. How could I get a stain out of my white blouse. Planned a birthday party. Rememberd a high school friend that betrayed me. On and on.
I suppose It's not as bad as texting where your eyes are distracted from the street, but still not as alert as one should be. If you think about it, we are intricate robots, finely made. We can steer a car, speed up and slow down, obey traffic rules, listen to the radio, discipline children, and eat a sandwich all while driving 40 miles and hour with hundreds of other mindless drivers.
I will conclude from this survey, that maybe I need a chauffeur.
