   Hi! I read your very helpful post about Camry. Mine lacks power, despite distributor adjustments.
   
   Any advice you can suggest? We re-time already the engine and check other possible connections but it seems to be not working. Hoping for your kind and generous assistance.

   Start by replacing the standard spark plugs with Iridiums, get better ignition wires, check and replace if necessary the air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, distributor cap & rotor.

   if it's an old vehicle then also check your tappet adjustments ... if they are hydraulic then you will not be able to adjust them yourself but if they are the rocker type then set them using a guage. make sure they are not too loose either.
   
   another issue with lack of power and high fuel consumption is the catalytic convertor ...it could be clogged and may need replacement.
   
   if the camry is EFI then clean as many sensors as you can and make sure there is no air leaks in the air intake side.
