Intermittent soft brake pedal, sometimes the brakes are good, sometimes no resistance, why??
I'm not a mechanic but you may want to have your master cylinder checked out. You may also be leaking brake fluid.
The master cylinder is what applies the pressure to your brake pads to stop your car when you press your brake pedal.
Low brake pedal without a leak is generally a failed brake master cylinder.
