Life has its ups and downs.

Sometimes you feel like you are on the mountain top, and sometimes you feel like you are down in the valley.

That’s how life is.

There are times when you feel a lot of inspiration and there are days when it’s boring and routine.

There will be days when you feel like giving up.

You may feel like giving up your habit of exercising and eating healthy food.

You may feel like giving up your newly started business or you may even give up feeling good about yourself.

We all go through these phases in life.

Here, are 7 things that will help you to get over the blues in your life.

1. Become Real

We live in a world where many things are fake.

The people you see on social media are totally different from the people when we see them in real life. In real life, people are just caricatures of their images on social media.

In this world, if a girl doesn’t look like a Barbie doll, she feels life is not worth living.

A boy who doesn’t look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, with six-packs and a superhuman body, feels worthless.

This is the world that we have created for ourselves. But this is not the real world and we all know it.

In the real world, we have struggles, setbacks, and failures. And let me remind you this is perfectly normal.

So get out of the virtual internet world and get into reality. Utopia is only in the imaginary world.

The real world is absolutely different from the real one.

The earlier you come to terms with this, the more real and simple your life will be.

Don't build your life on social media. You will do well to read some real-life stories of real-life heroes who had real-life struggles. And they overcame them to become role models.

Listen to podcasts, watch videos of inspirational people.

Read books that will help you to realize that life is not always a bed of roses but neither is it full of thorns either.

2. Don’t Lose Sight Of Your Overall Goals

It’s a good practice to write down your life purpose or your overall goals in a journal.

During times, when you’re feeling down you need to go to these goals and draw inspiration from them.

This practice is very helpful especially when you feel like giving up.

It will reconnect your efforts to your overall goals and restore back the spring in your steps.

So don’t ever lose sight of your life purpose.

Remember why you are doing what you are doing.

It may be to give a better future to your family. It may be that you want to live long and strong.

It may be that you want your kids to have a better education and a better career.

Whatever the reasons are, remind yourself from time to time why you are doing what you are doing. That is when it will make sense to you.

3. Remember: Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

It is said that life is not fair. While this is true most of the time. It’s not really always unfair.

Life has a way of balancing things out.

I have experienced in my life that when everything starts going downhill, there is always something positive that crops up. This helps me to keep going on.

Every cloud has a silver lining so it’s not always bad.

In life, there are times when we meet extraordinarily helpful people who go out of their way to help us.

We need to take advantage of these positive moments in life and capitalize on them fully.

This will help us to move on in our journey of life.

4. Reconnect With Your Roots

There are times when life can become very cruel and crazy.

It’s quite possible that you are experiencing many changes suddenly and it catches you off guard.

These new developments in life can leave you confused and disoriented to the point where you feel like giving up.

But this is the time when you need to reconnect with your roots.

Just remember why you started doing what you are doing now.

Simplify your life and the blues will disappear.

5. Change Something If Its Necessary.

At times, you need to go through your strategies and bring about changes wherever necessary.

It may be that when you wrote down your goals, some things were relevant but now they are no longer relevant.

In that case, you need to do some course correction.

This gets rid of the frustration and brings about the calmness in your life.

The overall result of this course correction will be that you won’t give up easily.

It is good to admit that some things are not right in your life and be flexible enough to change those things and become more real.

Sometimes this is easier said than done because you need to come out of your comfort zone.

But in the long run, this will help you to stay on course and not give up.

6. Remind Yourself That This Is Just For Today

Brian Tracy, the great motivating leader, uses the phrase ‘Just for today I will______’ You can put whatever you want in the blanks like exercise, read books, go to the gym, etc.

This will help you to live one day at a time without feeling overwhelmed.

It’s good to remind yourself that whatever you are facing today will pass away.

When you remind yourself of these things, the road will become easier and the burden will become lighter.

7. Talk It Out Your Loved Ones Or Friends

I have noticed that sometimes things get out of hand. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with the circumstances. It really helps a ton to just talk with my wife and my friends during those times.

It helps to just let it out in the open. This has a cathartic effect on the mind

So the next time you feel overwhelmed in life, just connect with people whom you trust. Let them know what you are going through.

This process is extremely helpful for taking you back in the middle of the road full of energy and passion.

I believe and hope that the next time you feel overwhelmed with life and feel like giving up, you will check these 7 things. this will encourage you.

Never give up no matter what.
