Could Covid-19 Bring the Change You Need?

Updated on July 20, 2020

Have you spent the past years contemplating a change that you’ve been too scared to make?

If so, you are not alone.

So many people are stuck in jobs they hate but are too scared to leave, and for good reason. In today’s world there are not many things more important than a steady pay check and not many people are in a position where they can give up this privilege to pursue the life they’d prefer to be living.

Hate Your Workplace?

You might be one of these stuck people. You may secretly hate your workplace, but love your profession. You are there just for the pay check even though you dread walking into that toxic environment day after day. Or, you might walk into your workplace every day questioning yourself on why you decided to work in your field. You are certain that you’d be much happier working in a different job, but you believe it’s too late to make a change now.

Maybe it isn’t!

Take Time to Plan a Career Change

Two months ago the thought of taking a month or so off work, just to sit around and binge on television shows would never have crossed your mind. Especially, not without being paid!

But, right now you might find yourself laid off, furloughed, without a job, and not knowing what the future holds for you. I can’t say anything to sugar coat this because the truth is that things are scary and look bleak for a lot of us right now.

What I will say is, if you’re home and you have the time, and you haven’t been happy with the direction your life is taking you, this downtime could be just what you need. The fact is that there’s nothing any of us can do about it. We’re stuck. We’re at home, many of us unemployed with no money coming in.

But, what if you consider this downtime a blessing in disguise?

You’ve been dreaming of a change in career but didn’t think it could ever happen. Why not take some of your free time to think about what interests you, what would make you happy and how you can make money doing it.

Take some time to research the career and direction you want to take or the business you’ve always wanted to start. Read about it, watch videos, visit forums and groups and ask people who are already there. Find experts in the field and gurus and follow them. You will never have a better chance to do this than now. You may find that your dream career is not all that you thought it would be and you’d be happier staying where you are. Or, you could learn that it is perfect for you.

Learn how you can make the transition to your dream career. Do you need to retrain? Can you learn it online?

Use this time to study. Prepare yourself for your new tomorrow.

Seize the Day!

We are constantly inspired by stories of people who’ve made lemonade out of the lemons they’ve been given. This is your opportunity. Your chance to take this stressful situation and turn it around for you. You could even consider Covid-19 your lucky break.

Maybe you’ve been dreaming about learning to do new things around the home. Whether you’ve been wanting to learn to cook, to paint, or to learn a new trade, this pandemic could be a blessing in disguise for you.

Don’t waste this special opportunity of free time that you’ve been blessed with. Start planning the change that you’ve been longing for.
