Don't Waste a Good Recession!

Updated on October 7, 2011

What To Do..What To Do???

So the economy is in the slumps. It took awhile, but yep, they finally admitted it. We are in a recession. We have all heard it, the housing industry sucks, 401k's are all screwed up. Who can you trust? People have lost their retirement and now are having to go back to work when they should be enjoying their golden years. But wait, there is a silver lining in every cloud.

"There are no challenges, just opportunities"

You may be wondering what the heck I'm talking about. Allow me to elaborate. While many people, especially the news, is going on and on about layoffs, downsizing, banks closing etc....perhaps we should divert our attention to the fact that we experienced a greater situation back during the Great Depression. Pay close attention....

More millionaires were made during the Great Depression era than at any other time in U.S. History!

Maybe that slapped some sense into you. Today we are not in a depression, (almost), but we are in a recession. And yes, there is opportunity all around us. For some this will be the catalyst that they need to get off their duff and do something. For others, they will continue on with their blinders on.

Now Is The Time To Take Action

There is a window of time right now where people are hungry and looking for something different. They no longer feel secure in their current situation and are open like never before to the thought of something different. Even something radically different.

There is a calling taking place, many people are feeling that they should step up, proclaim that "the buck stops here!" People feel this anxiety inside them, just wanting to burst out into useful and positive energy. Yet most people don't have a channel or vehicle to allow that outlet.

So what can you do?

Today, as people are looking at other options, there is an opportunity to lead. True leadership is hard to come by. Most will run at the first sign of adversity, feel that they can't accomplish anything. Those that hear the calling will stare in the face of adversity, and say that this is their time, and there will not be any denial of goals, dreams, and servitude.

Servitude you ask? Yes, these times more than ever require the true will of a servant leader. One that doesn't lead for selfish gain, or self-involvement, but one that believes that everyone has something to contribute to the whole. Together, we can change the paradigm and assist others to climb the mountains that we have ourselves climbed.

The Best Options

People right are looking for a solution. Their hopes are high and their resources are low. In my opinion, there are two best options.

  1. Network Marketing
  2. Internet Marketing

At first glance, the two both have marketing in common. But the true value is established when these are interwoven and used in tandem

Network marketing provides a system and structure to teach someone how to be a servant leader. The only way to excel and achieve success in that model is to help others achieve success. It truly is a win-win. Now, I'm not here to tell you which company in the best, that is something that only you can figure out for yourself. I'm here to let you know that it is an incredible business model and something that should be strongly considered.

Internet marketing allows one to dial in and fine tune their marketing style for maximum impact. Sure, there is a learning curve and there will be frustration along the way. Be careful of get rich quick offers, (there are plenty of those), but there is also a lot of solid instruction out there if someone is willing to invest the time, energy, and effort to learn.

The absolute best choice, is the use of Internet marketing to build your network marketing business. The reason is that the Internet provides an outstanding avenue to broadcast your message if done correctly. You get an opportunity to market your message to the world and get instant feedback to allow you to assess your marketing skills. Then, with network marketing, which is built on relationships with people and not machines, gives you the ability to grow as a person.

Once coupled together successfully, you become a well-rounded marketer. One that is really marketing themselves, not just a business or a product. But the ability, and willingness to come down the mountain and share with others what you have learned to show them that they can have success too.

Make Hay While the Sun Shines

Currently, we are in a recession and will probably be here for at least another year if not longer. To borrow from a phrase I heard growing up in Indiana, "Make hay while the sun shines!" People are hungry and looking for an answer. It only takes but one thing to be able to lead them, that is action.

Put away your fears, your thoughts telling you that you can't do anything about your circumstances. I'm telling you that you can. It takes action to step forward, to go on faith to learn the skills that are required to make it happen. You will grow to the person that you don't think you can become. Your reality of tomorrow will be better than your dreams of today. You can do this...

...If you choose to.
