Cool and Interesting Enron Information

Updated on September 8, 2011

I'm not sure what it is about Enron and its demise that I find so interesting, but just today I was thinking about Enron and everything that happened during their demise. Here are a couple cool and interesting Enron items.

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room Movie

This movie is by far one of the the best documentaries I have ever seen. I added this to my Netflix queue a long time ago and watched it when it arrived. I enjoyed this documentary so much that I'm considering purchasing it or adding it to my Netflix queue again. I highly recommend this documentary. It is very well done and very eye-opening. I also ordered the book and plan to read it as well.

Public Enron Email Corpus

Enron's entire email corpus was made public after the company's demise. I think this is very interesting. It is cool to read some of the messages in here and relate them to the movie and actually see transactions of the events that occurred.

I also find it interesting that all of Enron's email was made public. I was perusing some of the messages today and was curious about some of the names and phone numbers from some of the utility companies in the emails. Just out of curiosity, I called a person listed in one of the emails. I got his actual voice mail! That was a bit strange. I didn't leave a message, but was tempted to inquire about the email I was reading!

Since Enron's email was made public, I'm more concerned about what I write and send in my work email. You never know when it may be made public!

Thanks Hello, hello! Yes, Enron was a very significant point in history. I'm still mesmerized by how it spun so out of control!

Thank you for a great advice and somehow I am glad that things get a bit more transparent. That Enron was such dirty con and business.
