Five Quotes You Must Read If You Are Serious About Being Successful

Updated on October 29, 2014

The Power of Positive Reinforcement

If you are serious about being successful, start with your mind and most importantly your mindset. What you tell yourself everyday will shape your future, how you feel about things and most importantly how you act on given situations.

There are many role models out there who sailed the rough waters and made it through the storm, they worked hard, persevered and succeeded.

People like Michael Jackson, Will Smith and Steve Jobs, among many others, are examples of success, in their different fields.

Let's look at their powerful messages about success and what the secret is to get to the top and stay there. Now we are not talking about winning the lottery success or getting a good hand at poker. Let's talk about working hard for your dreams, to become who you want to be and to fulfill your true potential in life.

Let's see what the greats have to say...

Will Smith

“If you want something, go get it. Period” – Will Smith

Will Smith is undoubtedly one of the biggest movie stars at the moment and has such a wide career from music to TV shows and even producing. However, Will Smith seems to have a wider agenda for being a role model, a game changer, an example.

So, when they ask him about success and the secrets to his enormous career he talks about hard work and hard work and hard work.

Check out the Youtube link below and see how he says that everything he achieved was due to the fact that he worked when others slept, he worked when others ate and he just worked some more.

He also talks about perseverance and just going for it. From him we can learn that the real root of success is somewhere within in, where something snaps and we say 'That's it, i'm going for this, I'm doing it, no matter what, I'm achieving my dream, period!

Robert Kiyosaki

“The single most powerful asset we have is our mind. If trained well, it can create enormous wealth” – Robert Kiyosaki

Robert Kiyosaki, the author of the famous Rich Dad, Poor Dad book talks about the importance of training our mind. It is imperative that we train our mindset for victory but we also train our mind with knowledge.

In his book he talks about the importance of financial knowledge, and how self-development is the key to financial wealth.

We have to continue learning and training our minds beyond traditional education. What do you do on a daily basis for your personal development?

Is your learning helping you achieve your dreams?

Michael Jackson

“Work like there’s no tomorrow. Train, strive. Really train and cultivate your talent to the highest degree.” – Michael Jackson, Moonwalk

In spite of his glory and super-stardom, Michael Jackson was working harder than anyone else. In this book Moonwalk, he talks about the importance of working hard, training like there is no tomorrow.

He also talks about the importance of doing this no matter who you are and what you do. It's not just for pop and rock stars, if for anybody wanting to succeed at something.

Check out the Youtube link below, it's a nice compilation with Michael's interviews as well as messages from other people that worked with him and reflected on his work ethic.

I think the bottom line here is that you don't become Michael Jackson without working for it like you are Michael Jackson.

Whatever you want to become in life, work for it like you have something to prove, a legacy to keep, and keep that momentum all the time. Work for it, train for it, strive for it.

Norman Vincent Pale

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy” – Norman Vincent Pale, The Power of Positive Thinking

The Power of Positive Thinking is one of the greatest books ever written. Norman Vincent Pale brings such a refreshing, and incredibly realistic, view on life and on the power of positive thinking. Everything, from your job, to your relationships and even your health is impacted by your thoughts, and negative thoughts are only going to destroy you, so why self-destroy?

In his message, Vincent tells us about the importance to have faith in our abilities. Some of us are too insecure or too humble, and both attributes are holding us back. If we dream about something, if we desire it with passion, then we must believe in it and ourselves too.

Want to be a writer? Believe in your writing.

Want to be a singer? Believe in it.

Want to be a lawyer? Believe in it.

That simple. Confidence has to be the foundation, which is then complimented with hard work. Realistic confidence...

Steve Jobs

“Your time is PRECIOUS, so don’t waste it LIVING someone else’s life” – Steve Jobs

The man that gave us Apple, the man that gave us the iPhone, a role model and an amazing entrepreneur. He worked hard at everything he did, lost it all and worked hard at it again to only go further in life and achieve even bigger things.

In one of his speeches he talked about the importance of living your dreams not someone else's life. He told the story that he kept on looking in the mirror each morning and saying 'If today was my last today, would I do what I'm about to do?' Steve Jobs said that if the answer was no, he worked hard to change that as soon as possible.

What about you? Do you live your precious life, your valuable hours, for yourself or for someone else? If you have a dream, work for it, make time, prioritize it, because time will go and you will only be left with regrets.
