Flight of the Conchords on HBO

Updated on September 19, 2008

Sunday June 17, 2007 at 10:30pm EST marked the premier episode of the new HBO series Flight of the Conchords. The show features a musical comedy act from New Zealand, comprised of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clemen. Remember that time slot. You don't want to miss this show.

The series is about the duo's move to New York City, their manager Murray, their fan Mel, and their "search for romance and gigs" according to HBO.

The duo is so original and hysterical, that comparrisons are hard to come by. I almost want to say they could be the love-children of Jack Black and Christopher Guest since Tenacious D and Spinal Tap are as close as I can come to a frame of reference. The Conchords are somewhere in between. But not really.

Want to know more about Bret and Jemaine? Check out Sherry's site, What the Folk!

Or check out their myspace page.

And tune in to HBO.

" Cuz you're so beautiful

Like a tree

or a high class prostitute.

You're so beautiful

you could be a part time model

But you'd probably still have to keep your normal job.

A part time model,

Spending part of your time

modeling

and part of your time next to me

My place is usually tidier than this."

- from the song PART TIME MODEL (You're so Beautiful)
