Where to Find Free Royalty Free Images Online
When I first started my online business I can remember spending literally hours scouring the internet for free pictures I could download. I also paid for images on sites like Shutterstock and Big Stock.
While there's nothing wrong with buying an image, when you're a new business or bootstrapping as an entrepreneur it can become costly, both financially and in the time spent hunting for good quality free images to download.
Luckily I found some free alternatives for royalty free stock pictures, which I now use all the time.
These are my 'go to' websites for free, royalty free images.

I LOVE Unsplash, because they provide really high res', super gorgeous royalty free stock pictures to download and use as you please. You don't even have to add a credit if you don't want to, although I always do out of courtesy for the Photographer!
I think it's important for us entrepreneurs to support one another and give credit where credit's due.

Editing Your Royalty Free Images
Now you've got your perfect pic, you'll probably need to edit it to suit your purpose.
Editing images has never been easier. If you're using Windows you can open your image with 'Paint', which allows you to easily re-size it, cut or trim the image plus much more should you wish to get a little fancy. It's easy to use.
If you're a Mac user simply open your image using 'image preview' and voila, you can edit the image right there, including re-sizing and cutting it if you only want to use part of the image.
A little tip: Wondering what size your image needs to be? Most website images should be 1000 pixels wide. However for an email in Mailchimp it's 600 px wide.
Edit Images Online
Perhaps now you'd like to add some text to your royalty free picture, or maybe play with the colour, or even add a symbol or a border.
You can do all of this and more using a free online image editor called 'Canva'.
Plus, it's super easy to use, so it doesn't take a ton of time to learn. Unlike professional programs like Photoshop, even 'non-techy' peeps will be able to use Canva.
My second favourite online editor for free royalty free images is Pic Monkey, although I believe they've started charging a small monthly fee for their service now. As I'm not into paying for things when I can get them for free I haven't signed up for that yet. However it could be a great investment if you edit a lot of images.
Check that online image editor out too and see which one you prefer.
