What is the LYFE Program?

The LYFE Program is a youth service designed to help young men and women advance their education and start on building their careers. The LYFE Program helps guide you to a successful life by helping provide resources such as GED tutoring, getting your GED, college courses, etc. They provide incentives to help keep youth involved in the program and their education. This program is designed specifically for people with what I'd call 'life speedbumps'.

How do I apply?

It's fairly simple. Just call 801-468-0115 and tell them you would like to apply. When I did so, the woman I spoke to took my information over the phone. Some of the information I was asked for included:

  • Name

  • Address

  • Phone number

  • Social Security number, etc.

If you're uncomfortable giving the info over the phone, I am sure they'll let you come in and fill it out. After that you'll be given an appointment to talk to a representative and finish applying.

At your appointment you'll discuss what exactly you need help with. For example: getting your GED, getting into Adult High School, starting college, and more. Then you will be asked a series of somewhat personal questions. Some of these are things you may or may not feel like you should lie about – DON'T! You will not get in trouble. In fact you'll be more likely to get in.

These questions include things like:

  • Have you ever ran away from home?

  • Were either of your parents incarcerated during your childhood?

  • Do you or have you ever had a substance abuse problem? (If you do, they've also got resources to help you with that.)

After the questions you'll go onto discuss further appointments. If you're there about your GED, you'll set up a date to take your TABE test (2 hrs.) to show them where you're at education wise. You'll also set an appointment up to bring in any documents they may need; such as birth certificate(s), photo ID, income verifications, etc.

They will go over everything with you and answer any questions you have.

I sincerely help this helps somebody out there, because I know the LYFE Program is helping me. If you would like more information, call 801-468-0115, or let me know and I'll answer what I can.

**I am not an affiliate of either DWS or the LYFE Program. All information I have shared is from experience and is not 100% guaranteed to be the same for everyone**

I got my GED through this program and im so happy i found it, they help you with any areas your having trouble in with a free tutor, and they give you money for transportation, which was a HUGE help for me because I didn't have a car at the time. Now im about to start college and they are helping me pay for it.
