This is one of the well planed localities of Bangalore.Wide sidewalks with good roads.The maintenance is by the city palika,paliks means protector or maintainer of the place.Maintenance is just remove garbage and sweep the place.That is done once a day in the early morning.The people in the locality produce garbage till they go to bed and afterwords everything is again cleaned next morning.It's post sweeping that our citizens like to decorate the sidewalks and all areas outside their homes that they keep throwing the garbage anywhere even on roads.People spit from all moving vehicles on the road.If the cleaning is done in the morning it has to be done in the noon and evening but that is not workable.The worst thing on the road is plastic carry bags with garbage all along the road at the sides of this residential extension.At corners in some places it's in heaps and smells a stench most nauseating.The roads are made good newly but we the residents refuse to keep it clean.
The worst is at the places where there are 4 wheeler restaurants selling anything as you can see in the pictures.The city is ruled by BBMP a long name with a IAS officer as there is no Mayor since years due to political problems.Slums have become permanent buildings,even a big co-op bank has a place rented on the three floored building in a site meant for a park.
ll the slums and open places are free places for the people of our neighboring state.They work as building workers,painters,auto repairers,gas welders,steel fabricators,sidewalk restaurant owners,cinema poster stickers at night,shoe repairers,Tyre tube fixers,4 wheel shoppers moving and selling from anything from Tomatoes to Stainless steel vessels including toys for children.They stay in all or any vacant place with full immunity from any authority of the city.They are protected by local agents of local politicians.This is one locality imagine hundred like this in our city,which our Chief Minister say's will look like Singapore after 4 years.
Only people can't spit from Metro Rail. ( I won't bet on that )
