Updated on July 13, 2010

If you have a blog, you may decide that you could actually start earning some money with it.  One of the easiest ways to do this is to sign for a Google adsense account.

You may be surprised to learn that it is very easy to make money with adsense.  Once you sign up for an account, you create coding to add to your blog site and you will find ads appearing that will have something to do with the subject matter of your blog post.

An Example of Adsense Ads

If your blog is about cats, you will find that your adsense ads will be anything to do with cats and animal products and information.  If your blog is about gardening then you will find that the ads appearing on your site will all be related to gardening, flowers and anything that has to do with this subject matter.  There are rare occurrences when Google may not have any ads that are relevant to the subject matter that your blog is about so you will find that no ads appear or you will get public information ads.

Define The Subject Of Your Blog For Better Adsense Ads

If you are clear about the subject matter of your blog, then it will be easier for Google to identify what type of ads are suitable for them to post onto your website. To do this always write a draft of your post and make sure that each post isn’t trying to be about too many different topics. Streamline each post so that it is clearly defined what the aim of your article is. This makes it so much easier for Google to recognise and confirm the theme of your site and you can then be guaranteed that adsense will appear in no time.

How To Get Started With Adsense

The first thing you need to do is to go to Google and sign up for an Adsense account.  This is free to do and very straightforward.  Read the information about how you create the coding you need to place on your blog.  This will include details about how many ads you want to feature, the size of the ad block and the colour of the ads.  You will most likely choose colours to blend in with the colours you use on your website.

Once this is all done you just carry on blogging and whenever visitors come to your site and click on an ad, you will make a commission.  This is a great way to make a little bit of money when you are blogging anyway.
