If you want to see phenomenal success in your life, then you will have to give up certain things.

Some of these things may be holding back your success and personal growth.

Given below are 10 things that you have to give up.

It's not going to be easy to give up these things but it's going to be worth it.

The faster you get rid of these obstacles, the faster you will experience growth, success, and prosperity

1. Excuses

The first thing that you have to get rid of, is excuses.

We all are very good at giving excuses.

In fact, a study was undertaken about the excuses given by people - whether at home or in the office or any other place.

The findings were very interesting.

Some of the excuses were so ridiculous that they would be pathetic, if they were not so funny.

The bottom line is that so long as we hold on to excuses, we are not going to go anywhere and not going to achieve anything in life.

2. Negative Self Talk

The second obstacle that you need to overcome is negative self-talk.

If you want to see good days, then you need to take control of your words.

As you speak so shall you be.

Be very careful about the words that you speak because words have the power to bring life or to cause death.

Don't ever indulge in negative talk whether it's about yourself or someone else.

Many people have the habit of belittling themselves and talking negatively about themselves.

They are not sure about their capabilities, skills or talents.

They are unsure if they can complete certain projects.

There are many areas about which people indulge in negative talk.

You have to get rid of this toxic habit.

If and when you get rid of negative talk, you will start noticing tremendous progress in your life.

This progress will be seen in your relationships, the quality of your work and your finances.

3. Self-Doubt

The next big obstacle that you have to deal with is self-doubt.

Self-doubt causes you to doubt your abilities and talents. It will sabotage your progress in a big way.

All of us do go through seasons of self-doubt every now and then.

The only solution to come out of this is to radically remove doubt from our minds and replace them with thoughts that are positive.

Get into the realm of possibilities. Start believing that you can do all things.

If you can believe it, you can do it.

4. Procrastination

The next bad habit to get rid of is procrastination.

Procrastination is nothing but the habit of delaying things.

It’s the habit of giving excuses for not doing something today.

Most of us are guilty of procrastination.

The way to get rid of procrastination is to start becoming diligent about doing thing

If something has to be done tomorrow, try to do it today.

Most high performers in any field of life have developed the habit of taking massive action and taking it fast without any delay.

Billionaires, sportsmen and other successful people are known to be people who take action fast.

5. Negative Thinking

Most people have developed this bad habit of negative thinking.

Instead of thinking that something good will happen, they keep on thinking about the bad that may happen.

You need to replace this negative thinking with positive thinking.

Instead of worrying about what could go wrong start being happy and excited about what could go right.

Many people subscribe to Murphy's law which states that if there is anything that could go wrong then it will go wrong.

It doesn't have to be like that.

It's true that life is not a bed of roses and things can go wrong but negative thinking expects things to go wrong.

That's the problem with negative thinking.

So don't expect things to go wrong expect things to turn out well.

Believe for the best and prepare for the worst.

6. People Pleasing

Many people are guilty of being men-pleasers.

This does not work in the long run.

One thing we need to remember is that we cannot please everyone.

This is not to say that you have to be nasty towards people, but you need to realize that you cannot please everybody.

So stop trying to be a man-pleaser.

You have your own dignity and respect and people should acknowledge that.

Try to be at peace, as much as you can, with everybody.

But let others know their boundaries.

Learn to be honest and forthright with your words.

7. Fear Of Failure

The fear of failure is a very common fear.

There are thousands of fears or phobias in this world.

Failure is one major phobia that many people have.

The fear of failure keeps people from believing that they can do it- that they will never succeed.

If you want to see success and good days, you have to remove this failure consciousness and replace it with the success mindset.

8. Remove Toxic People From Your Life

In life, we come in contact with many people, whether it be at work, business or any other place.

Man is a social animal and he has to maintain social contacts.

But not all the people who touch your life have your best interests in mind.

There are certain people who are like parasites.

They are energy sappers.

Be very careful about these toxic people.

The way to know who are the toxic people is very simple.

If you feel your energy and happiness taken away in the presence of certain people, then those are the toxic people in your life.

Get rid of them as quickly as you can.

Be radical about this if you want to make progress in life.

9. A Judgmental Attitude

Do not have a judgemental attitude.

You don't know what battles other people are fighting so don't judge.

The best way to get rid of a judgmental attitude is to replace it with a thankful attitude.

An attitude of gratitude will remove every trace of judgment from your life.

Be thankful for what you have rather than complaining about what you don't have.

10. Laziness

Finally, get rid of all laziness and slothfulness.

There are many people who are well educated, skillful, and talented but they are not making any progress in life because of laziness.

Many people are waiting for the perfect day to get started.

But my friend, there is no such thing as a perfect day.

Today is the perfect day to do what you have to do.

So stop waiting until the circumstances are just right for you to go forward.

Just start with what you have and start right now.

And as you go about your task, things will become crystal clear.

Get out of your comfort zone and start working hard to achieve the goals you have set for your life.

Final words

If you get rid of these 10 things, you can be sure of making tremendous progress in every area of your life - in your relationships, in your work, in your career, in your finances, and in your business.

So start working on these things and take it up as a challenge.

Your personal development, growth, and success will happen in leaps and bounds.

Some people are like clouds.

When they disappear its a beautiful day.
