Miami Dade County certified storm shelter

When Miami Dade County aviation department needed a secure safe room for their personnel at a site in the Everglades and after searching for all options decided on the safedome. 10 feet in diameter 9 feet high gave the workers plenty of space to bunker down. By the shape and design of a dome and 8 tons of concrete and steel makes this building virtually indestructible. Center for tornado rating requires a tornado rated door to be installed so as to acquire a true tornado rated shelter. Safedome have gone many many storms since Hurricane Andrew. The most recent hurricane to strike a safedome was Irma at Big Pine Key. The call post Irma from the owner was that he needed a door for his unit. Turns out there was over 160 mph winds with a 12 foot tidal surge at Big Pine Key.

Post Hurricane Irma the owner returned to his property to find everything inside was soaking wet. The safedome is 9 feet high the owner placed it on a 2 foot road rock base so this dome was at times completely underwater. The dome did not move an inch but the steel door could not withstand the water pressure and blew off its hinges. The owner has since bought and replaced the door waiting for the next one.

Next evolution in backyard storage sheds bunker sheds and homes to save your life!

Storms are not only getting stronger they are getting larger, no longer can you hop in the car and drive away from Mother Nature. The future both storage sheds and home construction will be those structures that can withstand enormous stress be it from Mother Nature or manmade.

Bunker homes built with no bearing walls no air leaks and using composting toilets will the the future of home construction. Everyday people talk about alternative energy rarely anything spoken about alternative fecal disposal?

Because a monolithic concrete structure has no air leaks and with added foam insulation applied to the exterior these structures are easily and CHEAP to take off the grid, normally requiring a third the cost of a conventional built home.

West coast of Florida Port Charlotte / North Port a new development is taking place, off grid bunker homes with no homeowners insurance that anyone and everyone can afford and everyone cannot afford not to.

With little down little per month for 10 years people have now the ability to live in peace knowing they never need to evacuate!

At some future time ALL dwellings will need to be off carbon fuel so as to save this planet these Florida homes will be a beginning.
