Be your own boss: How to build your own successful business.

Updated on July 3, 2012

One of the things that has tickles me about writing, is all of the possibilities, options and choices that it has opened for me and my career. I was, not too long ago a full time student, looking for a job because I grew tired of my minimum wage earnings after working 4 out of 7 days a week. Sadly enough, in my town, the possibilities to earn good money, as a full time student before my degree were pretty much limited if not non-existent.

I was a pre-med student, with a minor in English, because to tell you the truth, I needed to focus on something other than Science every day. I found my escape in words and I found it to be extremely helpful and a life saver. I wanted something better for me, and I wanted to make something on my own, that told the story of my success. The only thing holding me back was time and ideas.

Everyone wants to be successful and tell their story to someone and inspire them to be better. I am one of the few that wants to be that person, with the slight difference that a few individuals have already started asking me how I'm able to write so much, and get as much traffic.

Here's the thing:

People often look for a role model, a leader in their field of work, or topic of interest. Someone who not only has the experience, but the knowledge of how to be a complete success at what they do. For me, I crave the information of how to be a good writer, and how to pull people my way and like what I have to say with my words. However, I quickly realized that even though I have so many plans for my future, and so many ideas in my head, I had to put them into action instead of just thinking about them and wondering if "they might work".

You would think that as a writer, I would just sit down in front of a computer, and start typing like crazy and start earning money! No, I did my research, put some serious time and effort into my ideas and soon started to work for writing companies where I could get paid for all of my ideas, or in this case: My words.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

If any person wants to be the next success story, the first thing that they have to do is stop thinking of "What they have to do", and start doing! There are so many people with ideas and because they work smarter not harder, they are able to make their dreams, even if they are small at first, but they make them a reality!

Building yhour own business, brand or company takes: time, energy, and a lot of work. One of the things that stops many people is that they do not know where to start building their business, or how to start building the foundation to their own company.

If your dream is to be a writer, then your best bet is to slowly start building your portfolio and start writing to make money. This will increase your chances at making money with your work, and even attract high paying clients.

HOW YOU CAN START.

One of the things that you can do to start your own business is to set aside a realistic goal. This means that whatever goal or idea you want to accomplish, you set your schedule, and work towards it.

Being an entrepreneur means putting in a lot of time and energy into work, and making a lot of hard sacrifices for your business. This is something that every person needs to think about when they start to work.

If you want to have your own business or company online, then your best bet is to make a website, and use this to promote your work, and use this to reach your targeted audience. Many people have a lot of problems doing this because they do not know how to market their business, and reallu get their name to be seen everywhere.

I consider myself quite lucky that I perceived my dream, because regardless of any situation, I am able to balance my life, and slowly achieve my dreams of being a creative writer. Who says that any person here won't be the next number one selling author?

My dream is to one day soon become a book author, and hopefully continue writing and making money each and every day! Whats yours?
