Motivating someone?
No can motivate anyone
Motivation - to boost somebody's morale to do something. This is a very bookish definition of motivation, have you guys tried this in real life. Do u really think can somebody boost my morale if I do not want to do the thing. NO ONE CAN MOTIVATE ANYONE. IT IS ME, MYSELF WHO CAN MOTIVATE MYSELF. The thing which are talking about and some of my fellow hubbers replied was INSPIRATION.
in·spi·ra·tion (¹n"sp...-r³"sh...n) n. 1.a. Stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity.
You might be aware of the organizations offering incentives to make people work more, but what if I don't want that incentive and I am happy with what I m getting, then AM I MOTIVATED?
I would try to explain the things via a short story:
Once there was a footballer who was in the club team. His father daily use to visit the ground and see him sitting on the sidelines and not playing, just because he was not good enough for the final team, he didn't use to practice a lot. One day he went to his coach and said that he wants to play for the team and upon several requests and his improved performance in practice, he got a chance to play in the final 11. The club won the tournament and this player was awarded player of the tournament. The coach asked that player, your dad used to visit you in all the practice sessions, now in this whole tournament I haven't seen him why? Upon this he answered HE DIED 15 DAYS BACK, AND HIS ONLY DREAM WAS TO SEE ME GETTING THIS AWARD. THE COACH WAS SPEECHLESS. IT WAS HIS DESIRE TO ACHIEVE THESE THINGS.
For this person, his father's death was a motivating factor, his desire, and his willingness that he want to achieve this. So I think motivation comes from within the person and nobody can motivate anyone. YOU CAN INSPIRE SOMEONE BUT NOT MOTIVATE.
