My Money Making Experiment To Make Money On The Internet

Updated on July 8, 2010

My Money Making Experiment

I have set myself a money making experiment to see if it is possible to make a living from my internet activities. I have set up a few websites and am aiming to make money in the following ways:

I have read lots of different blogs and therefore know that it is possible to make money on the internet. As a newbie I know that I have lots to learn so it will take not only time and patience but also perseverance and motivation. There are several areas that I have identified that I can use to make money online. I am trying to do this without spending any money unless it has been made through my online money making activities. I have discovered the following ways to make money:

  • Cashback Sites
  • eBay
  • Adsense Niche Websites
  • Affiliate Marketing

Making Money With Cashback Sites

There are lots of cashback sites that I have signed up with. The best ones so far have been Quidco and GreasyPalm.

I signed up with them last year and have used the cashback system and earned around £600. This is a great sum of money, especially when I only made one purchase during the whole time. I bought an orange mobile phone in order to get half price cinema tickets. I also got cashback that was the same amount as the phone. A great scheme.

Making Money With eBay

I have created an eBay account and have been able to get rid of a lot of my clutter by selling stuff online.  It’s always nice to make money from stuff that I would have just thrown away.  I know that I could increase my earnings by becoming an eBay affiliate however my application has not been accepted.  Not really sure why.  I have been accepted to sell stuff for Canada but not for the UK or USA, the biggest markets.  I will try to apply again and see if I have any luck.

Creating Adsense Niche Websites

I am still in the process of learning how to put together niche websites that will attract good Adsense ads and good traffic.  The hardest thing is working out good keywords to use and then keeping motivated to write enough articles.  I am slowly getting there though and am sure that I will reach a point where everything will make sense and I will know exactly what makes a good money earning site and what doesn’t.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing

To me, affiliate marketing is the next level up from creating Adsense sites. It involves the same keyword research and SEO strategies but gives visitors to the site fewer options. They either click on your affiliate link or click away from your site. With Adsense there is a choice of more ads to click to but maybe less commission. I hope to put more effort into this money making area as the outcome can be much better than with Adsense and it is always good to have as many different streams of income as possible.

I will be documenting the results of my work at my money making experiment and hope to see my earnings increase in the not too distant future.
