The Classes

Within the class system I define 6 levels based on their economic success:

  1. Passive Upper Class
  2. Active Upper Class
  3. Retired Middle Class
  4. Middle Class
  5. Retired Working Class
  6. Working Class
  7. Unemployed or Under aged

Next I'll describe what the definition of each of these classes is.

Passive Upper Class

The passive upper class have the highest economic success. This class of people have sufficient income producing assets to pay for their costs and luxuries and aren't actively working. Their assets are managed by others.

Active Upper Class

The active upper class have the 2nd highest economic success. This class of people have sufficient income producing assets to pay for their costs and luxuries, but choose to carry on actively working. Some or all of their assets are actively managed by themselves.

Retired Middle Class

The retired middle class have had reasonable economic success. This class of people aren't actively working but have sufficient income producing assets to pay for their costs and a moderate level of luxuries. Their assets are actively managed by others, usually through pension schemes.

Middle Class

The middle class have reasonable economic success. However, this class of people do not have sufficient income producing assets to pay for all of their costs and luxuries without working. Their assets are usually managed by themselves. The middle class need to carry on working to sustain their cost of living and lifestyle. The middle class often manage the working class within the workplace.

Retired Working Class

The retired working class have not been that economically successful. This class of people aren't actively working and don't have income producing assets to pay for their costs and luxuries. Normally they rely on a state pension or meagre private pensions to cover all or part of their costs.

Working Class

The working unfortunately have low or negative net assets. They do not have sufficient passive income to be independant and rely on an employer to pay for their basic household needs.

Unemployed or Under aged

The unemployed are the lowest class and are very vunerable due to having no or little passive income. Usually their small income comes from the state.
