Google Secrets You Need to See

Looking For Just the Right Word

Sometimes I think we all forget how huge the internet truly is and what people around the world are searching for the most.

Google processes over 40,000 search queries every second of every day, this is an average. This translates to be over 3.5 billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide. Now, that's a lot of searching!

As entrepreneurs and trying to make money online we are always looking for ways to make our projects rise above all the rest and using keywords is one of the best ways to get ranked with the higher ups.

I did some research to find out what the top keywords searched for on Google were and here is a list of the top keyword searches.

It comes to me as no surprise that the top five most searched overall are:

  1. Google which has over 40,000 searches every second of every day, now that's HUGE!
  2. Craigslist spans over 70 countries worldwide and receives 30 billion page views each month, with 50 million of those views coming from the United States.
  3. Amazon has over 1.1 million requests per second
  4. Yahoo is searched 536,101,505 times per day
  5. Porn which is searched 68 million times a day, 2.5 billion pornographic emails a day, and 200.000 of these are porn addicts. Over 40 percent of porn addicts loss their spouses, 58 percent have financial loss, and one third loss their jobs. These stats are overwhelming! Alarming to me is that 12 percent of all websites worldwide are of some sort of pornographic nature. That equals to 24,672,172 websites.

Americans 40 million people are regular visitors on these sites. Another interesting fact is in the United States, Utah is the number one state for porn subscribers. The day that is lowest for porn viewing is Thanksgiving, now that's funny, maybe because they are traveling to relatives homes or hosting dinner themselves, but either way I guess they are around a ton of people so can't get their fix that day.

The most views on the day of the week is Sunday. I guess after church while everyone else in the house is doing the chores before the Monday rush, some are taking a few minutes to watch the porn, or maybe they send everyone else off to church and they stay home to view.

All of this is crazy to me, how on earth can this be such a huge industry?

More Information

There are so many words and so many ways to do searches it is hard to compile stats for each word and then combined with other words everything changes.

If your interested Yandex will give you stats for other countries of the world, not just the US, which is quite interesting. You can find out what everyone else is doing on the inter-web.

Playing around with words is what I do as a writer, and this is kind of fun to know what's the top searched words across the globe, but it is also very useful information when writing and getting your information online and headed to the top of all Google searches.

So the next time you are beginning a new blog or website try using some of the keywords from the list above or do your own search on different words and see where they come in on the worldwide web search statistics.
