Understanding the steps to Marketing Online

Updated on June 15, 2010

Do you have to be a Tiger?

Tigers don't always dominate

One thing many people who start off with affiliate marketing have in mind is that they must be a TIGER in order to succeed with this field and to actually make some money online.  Okay, so there are gurus all over the place, what do they really know?  You can take the good with the bad, but if you get on their lists to learn from them, you will receive a lot of spam.  That's about it.  If you really want to make money with affiliate marketing, you will need to learn the step by step methods and each key ingredient that goes into a successful campaign.  There is no need to steam roll people, you don't have to be aggressive.  In fact, providing really good and comprehensive information on a landing page or web site is much more important than throwing links in people's faces.  People want things for free, so give them something.  Don't stop at one thing, if you want to build a mailing list, keep giving them freebies.  They will love you for it.  Once you have their trust, they will be much more likely to purchase something that you recommend.

Slow and Steady wins the Race

Know the steps and implement them!

So, affiliate marketing is a process, and learning the steps is crucial to being successful at it.  Every affiliate marketer starting out is looking to make a sale, because commission is the end goal, the name of the game.  The first commission you earn is exciting and gives you a rush.  After that, I guarantee you will be hooked.  The best way to achieve success is to have a good understanding of the whole process, from start to finish.  It is not simply posting links all over the internet, hoping that people will click on them.  You have to give value in order to be rewarded.  So how do you give that value?  Give good information and give free stuff away.  Simple, easy and straight forward.  Become an expert in your niche.  This is not hard, and you can easily build a name for yourself online if you are not constantly trying to sell things to people.  It is like a "soft" approach, and it helps you to gain people's trust.

Networking with other people can help

You don't have to work alone!

If you can find a good community of people who will give you answers to your questions when you have them, it is much easier to work through the details and get a campaign up and running. Don't be afraid to seek the help, look for an excellent support system. Networking with other people is a great way to find success.  Take the free course offered here and see for yourself how you can be successful in affiliate marketing... and let me know when you get your first sale, I want to hear about your success!
