Vancouver Life Coaching Schools
The Vancouver Life Coaching Community is an active group of people who are both officially registered through the ICF or independent coaches working as private consultants. The Vancouver division of the International Coach Federation (ICF) has more than 200 registered members and there are at least another 200 non-member coaches operating in the Lower Mainland as independents.
Most of these coaches register on coaching directories and on the ICF web page.
Some of these
coaches have trained as Life Coaches at Vancouver Area Schools
including; Coaches Training Institute, Erickson College and Royal Roads
University.
A popular training option for Vancouver Life
Coaches is Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the largest coaching
school in the world. The local branch of this coaching power-house
offers a five class program that enlightens students to the benefits of
co-active coaching. Co-active coach training has the student first
introspectively focus on their strengths, weaknesses and abilities.
Then through a thorough understanding of self, trained coaches can
actively encourage others to take positive steps in their lives.
CTI
and ICF are interrelated organizations with many CTI-trained coaches
becoming members of the ICF. As a result, CTI principles and coaching
guidelines often find their way into the ICF coaching framework. This
is no different in the Vancouver Chapter of the ICF where many board
and chapter members were trained at CTI.
CTI has a campus in
Metro Vancouver where they teach the 5-Class Co-Active Coaching
course. The course runs twice annually beginning in September and
March. Each of the 5 sessions (Fundamentals, Fulfillment, Balance,
Process and In the Bones) is taught by a qualified instructor.
Sessions are once per month in consecutive months. You can get full
program details by calling CTI at: 1-800-691-6008.

Royal
Roads University, located near Victoria on Vancouver Island, offers an
executive coach training course in association with the ICF. The
course is aimed at more senior level managers and those that are
involved with coaching at the executive level. Most entrants to the
program will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience in the
business field. Graduates of Royal Road's Executive Coaching
Certification can apply for advanced standing for Royal Road's MBA or
Certified Human Resources Professional programs. Intakes are generally
every September and January with the occasional April start. For more

What is Life Coaching?
Life
coaching involves providing support and
positive feedback to others while offering occasional advice to help
them recognize ways in which they can improve
the effectiveness of their lives. Coaching focuses on making positive
strides forward and is future-focused, as compared to therapy which
dwells on people's pasts. Coaching can be conducted over the phone,
online or in person. To find a Vancouver Life Coach you can contact the local ICF at 604-948-805.
