Waking up in the Morning is Hard
For those of us who are not morning people, waking up in the morning is a tough thing to do. Thankfully, there are some things that we can do to help us wake up a little bit more and get our day off to a great start.
Caffeine – This is one of the best known methods of waking up in the morning. I never used to drink anything but water in the AM but this has now changed. I typically do not get my tea until my morning break at 10 am when I have already been up for a few hours. On days when I am really having a tough time, I do head to the cafeteria a bit sooner.
Exercise – One method that people swear by is getting some exercise first thing in the morning when they wake up. It gets the blood flowing and helps to wake you up.
Routine – This is another place where they recommend that you stick to a routine regardless if you have to get up that morning for work or not. This is something I really have an issue with being a night owl, but I know some people that automatically wake up at the same time every day no matter what.
Available in several colours.
Alarm clock – Most of us set an alarm clock to help us wake up but we tend to hit the snooze button a few times. But I have read about alarm clocks that actually move around your room and you cannot turn the alarm off until you physically catch it and hit a button. I’m not sure I would want to buy an alarm clock like this in the first place though.
Have a Shower – Another thing to try to help you wake up is to take a nice shower in the AM. You can buy some products that are designed to help wake you up but even something a simple as washing your face with something citrusy smelling can help to wake up your body and mind and make you feel good.
Breakfast – A lot of people do not eat something in the AM before they head out the door. But this is really an important element of your day as it helps to wake you up, it gets your metabolism going, and it will give you energy to get your day going.
Waking up can be a difficult task, but it is not really an option, so it may be a good idea to do something to help you wake up a little bit faster and easier each morning.
