Youradultstore.net/Adriatic Services--the truth about what seems so damn awesome

Updated on May 2, 2011

We've all been there. We've all made mistakes and learned from them, well at least most have but there are those situations--those exceptions that seem to slide by--whether it be due to name change or just the slight, in some cases rather large, oversight.

You're also probably reading this and looking at the image posted, I'm going to explain that a little for you all. This is an actual photo taken from my computer and posted. Those of you who own internet business' or may even be SEO guru's or HTML gods are probably looking at this in awe. Understand, so did I--and I'm so incredibly glad that I didn't agree to any of these prices. I'm no HTML god or SEO guru, but after being a successful private business owner and owner of 4 very successful online sites, I was pretty confident that something wasn't right here. So I did the bulk of it myself--that was the biggest mistake I have ever made.

Adriatic Services or AIS or Youradultstore.net or even Global Warehouse; of which mainly known by Youradultstore.net, offers you the deal of a lifetime. You can get into a billion dollar industry selling adult novelties--sounds amazing right? Not having to deal with buyers complaints, pushiness (and yes we can all be a little pushy), free merchant handling, all you do is sit back and collect your money from the difference in sale price and your price. Sounds absolutely amazing--too amazing to be true; and too amazing to be true is right.

AIS or Youradultstore.net is an Arizona based company that specializes in selling adult novelties, and possibly more than just that. They take care of customer service, customer support, inventory, and maintenance of your site; should you choose to do business with them. As a business owner, a break sounded amazing--so I researched under AIS and found nothing on them so considered it legit. Man oh man--I should have stabbed my eyes out a bajillion times for that dum dum mistake.

So once you go to their website and fill out your information, a sales representative contacts you immediately and gives you the most amazing speech of your life--I mean they are easy going, easy to relate too, and even funny. Then once they answer all your questions, of which they really don't--if you ask the question "what are the names of your most successful sites" they don't give you any names or say that they can't release that information. Huh? What is that? You hold yourself high on your money made easy method and can't give me a demo of what I maybe can look forward too as a webmaster? owner? business man? entrepreneur? Nope--unfortunately they can't do that, where as most fortune 500 and Inc 500 and 5000 companies will do so at any given time, because that's what makes them stand out--gives you proof of the awesomness you can create or become with some work, and an awesome support staff. Not AIS.

So, you get reeled in, sign a contract that is your standard contract--the blah and blurs of internet business--your regular contract...but oh--there are some catches. If you want to cancel early--you have to pay 200 dollars to cancel early and then the remaining balance of what's owed them for the year. Crazy? Insane? Oh boy is it. Most people think, "well I'm going to be bringing in extra money, so I shouldn't need to cancel." Unfortunately that is not the case.

On average, E-Commerce based sites or Internet Business' begin to make profits between month 2 and month 6 of site ownership. Depending on your niche, it can be a lot shorter or a lot longer--but not longer by years. Normally online marketing, SEO optimization, and Hard Marketing (newspapers, magazines, etc) build your client base a lot faster. So you complete all of these things, and let's say you pay a total of 5,000 dollars in marketing packages--and yet your on month 14 and have no sales. You check your bounce rates, your visitor traffic, you contact your advertising firm to find out what the problem is--they can give you nothing. Not saying they're doing something wrong, but yet can't understand why you are making absolutely no sales. It gets pretty frustrating at this point--

So you contact your supplier, in this case AIS--asking hey I've done all these things as an experienced business owner, that have proven successful year after year with insane conversion rates--why is it not working with this business. The response: "It's your marketing--you don't know what you're doing". No lie, that is what I was told originally--I was floored at the rude and brash response to a simple question. So I contacted higher to complain about the Customer Service that I was provided as a consumer. Mike's response: "I'm a busy man, I can't deal with everyone's issues all the time," and then a dial tone.  I was flabbergasted and incredibly furious at this point.

Gave it some time, and tested the waters--I had my marketing team add a crawler and a stat's code so that I can have more accurate reporting of my visitors and their location--3 months later--456,765 visitors and not a single sale--so the confusion hit even more-so than before. I was like what in the world is going on? So I had my marketing team send AIS all that information and deal with them directly since I was investing such a large amount of money, because a group of 6 people with 100 years of marketing expertise where lost in translation--want to know what happened?

A few weeks go by, and then my lead marketer forwarded an email sent by them in response to their questions--mind you, we are all professionals and were never rude, short, or brash with AIS--but the response was horrendously violent and incredibly rude and threatening. Justin (lead marketer) called every business he could think of and sent their response to them. All of them, to include myself were in absolute shock. I am a wife, a mother, and a successful business owner and never have I been talked to like that, or had anyone else talked to like that. So we proceeded the best way we could and kept working.

I began to get email upon email about how my customers could not reach anyone in customer support, never received phone calls back in regards to their business--I even had one email state they had placed an order and 4 months later haven't received their product. I was in absolute shock, because I never even knew there had been sales and purchases made. So I go to talk to Customer Support--here is the outcome of that (image depicted below)

This was the end result of asking for my money back due to contract breach...as a business owner to old and new business owners--I suggest that you do not use Adriatic Services/Youradultstore.net/Global Warehouse for anything. You will be kicking yourself in your head over and over and over again.

*UPDATE*

so finally I was able to get a response back after filing 6 BBB complaints against the company for services not provided, and request for refund--they FINALLY responded after the last one--here's the jist:

"We are incredibly sorry about your frustration, and after reviewing your account, you have had several hundred orders that we unfortunately could not fulfill due to shipping restrictions of our products (DVD's/Toys) in certain states. We are issuing you a full refund."

Now--I did some more research and spoke to some large adult stores, like Adam and Eve, and they are able to ship to the continental United States, ALL of their products. So if they can do it--why can't they?
