The promoting link is the one provided to you by the product marketer. It is also called affiliate link.
You are supposed to replace "xxxxx" section in your link by your affiliate ID, so you get the commission for the sales.
You can see this pattern in Clickbank & Commission Junction links, in fact this pattern is universal.
