is there anyway to find out if seed potatoes were ever grown in gloucestershire england.
I want to find out because during or just after the second world war my father gave a talk to the local farmers saying it was possible, and a way to bring in extra money. I never did ask him if anyone did, and it is too late now as he died 15 years ago.
I doubt that there is any reason why spuds shouldn't grow in Gloucestershire, any farms nearby, do garden centres there sell seed spuds?
I live in Gloucestershire and potatoes have been grown here since way before the second world war. Hundreds of years before. I have some in my own garden. It wouldn't have been an unusual crop for the time, far from it. Most gardens with a veg patch would have included potatoes.
