Wienermobile is back! Frankmobile is toast!
Back in May Oscar Mayer announced they were changing the infamous Weinermobile name to Frankmobile. On that note, I am a great fan of the Oscar Mayer Bun Length Angus Uncured Beef Franks. They are tasty, but importantly the count is eight. That matches how many buns come in a standard bun package. No waste.
Anyway, the goal was meant to promote their 100% beef franks and their new recipe. However, public sentiment was not keen on the idea. So, on Instagram on Wednesday, Sept 20, 2023 they announced they would return to the traditional name – Weinermoble. Hooray, I say! Seems, maybe, is best to stick with tradition at times as change doesn't always work.
Have you wondered about being a Hotdogger? You know, the people doing the job of driving the Weinermobile around the country as ambassadors. Interestingly, probably the most famous Hotdogger was U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan (2015 – 2019). Imagine that.

Hotdoggers are ambassadors for one year only. It is not easy to become one. The applicants “should have a B.A. or B.S., preferably in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising or marketing, although applicants are not limited to these degrees."
It could be a great adventure. But, what do they earn? From a Lifehacker Article (01/20/2023) they state;
“The job offers a one-year contract with a $35,600 salary; a weekly stipend of $150; 18 paid days off; full health benefits; and paid hotels. You’ll drive to about 20 states, according to Apartment Therapy, and you’ll be considered a brand ambassador for Oscar Mayer.”
