How to Make Money Writing Online for Helium

Make Money Online Writing Articles for Helium

What is Helium? Helium is an online writing publishing company that pays their writers to various articles on numerous topics.

Helium has several ways to earn money. Contests, pageviews and other factors can pull in a nice part time income or even a full time income once established. Theirs no catches, gimics or other schemes.

Say goodbye to countless hours of sifting through emails, clicking ads, and taking surveys for just pennies a day. Join Helium and have some real fun while earning real money.

UPDATE: Helium May Not Be the Best Place to Write

Since creating this blog I have decided to quit writing for Helium. I don't agree with their practices and many people have left.

The main reason I have decided to quit is because you do not get paid unless you rate other articles. I want to write for a living not critique. An addition, you get paid based on pageviews and how well your article is rated. With that being said it is only rated by thousands of other Helium writers who have to rate to get read. Many writers will read and rate fairly, while others will skim through clicking on either article A or B being the best. It's not rated on a level of how well it is, it's rated against another article side by side. I have often seen some of the most brilliant, well-written articles fall well below an article that is non-informative, has bad grammar, no punctuation or spacing, and numerous errors. The reason for this is because of the quick-click rate and go so that they get their required amount of rates in order to get their rating quotas met so that they earn on their articles.

I do NOT find this to be a fair practice and can no longer endorse Helium. Sure there are some great things about them like their weekly contest and Marketplace but again, the articles in the contest are by ratings which are usually a 'click-and-go'.

How do You Earn Money With Helium?

There are a few different ways to earn money with Helium. Helium doesn't offer upfront payment for your articles but, you can still earn limitless amounts of money with pageviews, contests, Marketplace along with a few other opportunities.

Pageviews

Helium pays their writers a certain amount for pageviews. While it has never been said how much, it's figured to be between $1-1.50 per 1,000 pageviews. I know it doesn't sound like much but when you have a handful of articles that are bringing in a few thousand pageviews a month it can eventually lead to big money. Plus, you will continue to earn your pageview 'bonus' for ever.

Marketplace

Ever read some fancy piece on the Internet, or seen an article a dog magazine? Chances are that those same articles came from an online publishing company. One just like Helium. Helium has connected with several partners to include Michael Jordans new steak company, Dog Fancy, fishing magazines, gardening magazines and much more to find authors to great articles. They can pay from $16 up to $150 or more. It just depends on who wants it and how quick.

Contest

Once of the biggest ways to earn money on Helium is the contests. Helium as a number of contests going on at any time. They can pay from $60 for first place up to $150 and even higher sometimes. There is almost always 5-10 sometimes more contests.

The contest usually consists of a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner along with three 4th place winners. All of those will receive cash!

Be sure to check out the Contest section below to understand just how they work!

How Do You Get Paid?

It's the 21st Century Folks! How do you think you get paid? That's right......

Paypal is quick and easy!Paypal is an online bank that allows you to send the money to your personal checking account or you can get a Paypal Debit card that works just like any other debit card and it pulls it right out of your account. You can use it at Wal-Mart, to buy gas, pay bills or just support your online eBay addiction! The choice is yours!

Is There a Limit to How Much You Can Earn?

Nope, you can earn as much as you possibly can. Your account information with Helium is live and up to date. When you click on your earnings it shows just what you have earned up until that point.

There is absolutely no limit to what you can earn. However, you do have to reach $25 before you can get a payout. This helps Helium cut down on transfer fees for small amounts. Most people are making much more then that every few days.

Once your account hits $25 simply request payment by clicking on the "Request Payment" button before the last day of the month. You will receive payment by the 10th day of the following month.

What Can You Write About?

You can find titles on just about anything you can think of. From computers, landscaping, reviews, automotives, how-to's, crafts, recipes and much more. Helium has thousands and thousands of article topics.

In addition to writing articles, Helium accepts poetry, short stories, memiors and prose.

If you can name it, they will take it!

What Are the Requirements

Helium has very few requirements but, the ones that they do have are very important.

There is a 400 word minimum for all submissions with the exception of poetry and recipes. 400 words isn't much.

And the most important rule is no plagiarism. Helium does not and will not tolerate it.

Can You Make Money with Referrals?

Yes! You earn 5% of what ever your referrals earn. However, that's not going to bring you in much money unless you find serious writers who are looking for away to earn money. Each little bit helps so it is worth it but you won't see a major earnings from it. But again, each little bit helps right?

Other Online Writing Sites That I Write For....

In addition to Helium, I also write for a few other online publishers.

Associated Content is another great online site that I write for! AC actually provides upfront payment and pageview and there is no specific topic. I have made a fun amount with Helium as a hobby but I primarly right for Associated Content. I have seen where I can actually make a living writing for AC. Check out, How to Make Money With Associated Content

And of coarse Squidoo. Squidoo has been very beneficial for me because not only does it allow me to create 'mini sites' for myself it gives me that chance to link all my articles in a central location and then branch off with my articles to a specific topic such as Gardening.

Share your thoughts, ideas and tips on writing for Helium.
