Totally FREE Advertising for Small Businesses and Websites

Updated on February 14, 2013

100% FREE; No Games, No Gimmick Advertising for Your Company or Venture

In this three part series I am going to teach you how to market / advertise without paying a single penny. If done properly, your advertisements have potential to reach MILLIONS of viewers WEEKLY. Once again, there is NOTHING to purchase; not even a single ebook to download - all the information you need is contained in these three articles!

Yours Truly,

Tori Thompson

Owner of POSH by Tori BOUTIQUE

Advertising Doesn't Have to Cost Money!

As a business owner, I am always looking for ways to save money on literally EVERYTHING. The old saying is true - "A penny saved is a penny earned", and this genuinely applies to everyone, not just entrepreneurs; if you can save a buck at the grocery store, that's one more dollar in your pocket.

But this article is geared towards people like me, who are looking for absolutely legitimate ways to market / advertise free of charge. I have a huge arsenal of freebie advertising methods I use, but today I am going to focus on my famous "the very basic-basics",

I can honestly tell you that, from my experiences, almost ALL paid-advertising has been the biggest waste of money. Make sure you take the time to read my article about my AWFUL, costly "advertising experience" here:

However, my totally FREE methods have been EXCELLENT. So, lets begin –

This may sound like a massive list of “Free Things You Need” but trust me on this; its worth it and in the upcoming TWO parts remaining of this series I explain how to make everything run quickly, easily and without error (or hard work!)

A Business Facebook Page – Make sure you take the time to complete your business Facebook profile. Anything you “half-ass” is going to indirectly broadcast that your workmanship is of the same (lack of) quality.

A / Blogspot website

A Google+ account

A Pinterest

An Instagram

A FourSquare

A Twitter

A Delicious

A BuzzFeed

A Flickr

A Tumblr

A LinkedIn

An Evernote

A Photobucket

Google Adsense

(If you don't know what any of the above are, just google them)

Are You Kidding Me?

I know – the list sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? You’re probably thinking “I don’t have time to sign up for all this stuff, let alone operate it” – don’t worry, like I said prior to the list, I am going to teach you a trick… a really big trick that nobody else is going to tell you! But first, unfortunately, you have to make the accounts. Yeah, it takes a few hours to make all the accounts, verify them, etc – but it’s absolutely worth it in the end.

Now let’s discuss WHY I am telling you to make all of these accounts:

Well, let’s break them down into categories for Free Marketing / Advertising:

Free BLOGS / Blogspot (It’s the same thing – owned by Google; simply create a blog using your companies name. If your companies name is taken, make it work by using approved punctuation).

Free Online Company Profile Listings

Free Photo Sharing (And Storage!)

(show off EVERYTHING about your company! From happy clients to your office to samples of your work – the more photos you get out there, the more you market yourself!)

Photobucket (make sure your account is set to PUBLIC)

Free Online Storage Back Up Your Data

Evernote – Yep, you can have everything you and/or your employees post get backed up to Evernote. Think through the dreaded “worst case scenarios”; your main PC crashes and all your images are lost – no worries, you can get them right back through Evernote. Or, what if a disgruntle employee attempts to sabotage by deleting files – thankfully they’re backed up!

Your photos are also backed up via Picassa, Flickr and Photobucket BUT, we want to plan for the ULTIMATE, ULTIMATE worst-case scenario. I HIGHLY recommend, make your Evernote password / login different from all of the other sites so nobody but you can access it.

Free Online Bookmarking (Backlink Building)

I'll write another article on why Backlinks to your site are so important, but for now, just trust me on this:

Free Ways to Advertise Coupons, Specials & More

(and lots of others already mentioned; WordPress, Blogger, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, even Picassa, Photobucket and more!)

Free Ways to Advertise Your Location

FourSquare – You can personally “Check-in” (which basically means “I went to this awesome business”) and you can also offer deals / specials for your customers who opt to “Check-in”. The same applies for

Free Ways to Market Indirectly and Directly - This is a site that lets you publish content / articles that can go "viral" - this is excellent for showcasing the really super cool, perhaps quirky things about your business, employees or whatever you can think of that is "news-worthy".

YouTube - Record a tour of your store, warehouse, yourself talking about your business, your products and post it on youtube: A 100% free "commercial" that you can record with your cell phone!

Free Extra Money

Google Adsense – Adsense is, obviously, owned by Google. It allows you to inset advertisements into your websites that earn you money each time someone clicks on them. You do not “have” to insert ads on sites you don’t want to.

And, if you want to do as we do; join the two sites listed below to get paid to write about what you know (and advertise too!)

Below you will find a few NOT free books I have hand-selected as GREAT READS for extra penny pinching. The books literally "pay for themselves". Check them out and continue PART 1 of this series below

(Check Out These Great NOT FREE Must-Reads!)

My article continues below, but I did want to throw in some awesome reads that EVERYONE should take advantage of!

So as you can see, everything mentioned in my original list kind of crisscrosses in terms of “purpose” or “usefulness”.

I would suggest Bookmarking this page in your Favorites section and registering for all of the above accounts, then continuing on to my next article PART 2

Great lens. The list you have can be overwhelming to newbies but if they understand that the most important thing is to do some of it every day, it will have awesome effect in a few months. There is an exponential effect that happens if you are just diligent with a little advertising every day. Good research. Thanks
