10 hubs and counting...
So I think I can write...
So I have published some hubs so far. I'm guessing " So I think I can write". 10 hubs in four weeks. Someone reading this is probably bending over backwards laughing and thinking, "She has only written 10 hubs and she thinks she can write!"
The number 10 signifies completeness and that everything is in its proper order. So maybe I have reached a complete sense of achievement with a proper order to continue to write whatever thoughts come to mind and transcend to the keyboard via my finger tips.
I never thought I could master the courage to put a few sentences together to produce a hub. I was scared of putting my thoughts out there for fear of not being accepted, hence the use of my hub name PK2010. I let the fear of the unknown precede my desire to write, but that's ok. I have actually grown to love my hub name as it associates me with my hub community.
I have also learnt in these past few weeks that you do not have to be an expert at a task, an art or job to start it. You can only try and "if at least you don't succeed, try, try, try again." In life we never run out of opportunities to keep trying. Opportunities are like open doors which we can run through to discover what is on the other side. Yes the grass may not be greener on the other side, or the mountain a bit too high to climb, but nothing in life is handed on a silver platter. Even those born with a silver spoon in their mouth had to be born into the family in question, if you know what I mean.
Is there a formula for writing? Maybe and maybe not. Do you have to have a passion for writing? Yes. Without the passion, you will not feel the drive to produce more of the pot of knowledge and ideas brewing in your thoughts. The bonus is that there are always aids to help us polish the art of writing.
Writing is like music, there is always something to write about because our lives, the experiences we make and the journeys that we take are so different. There will always be plenty of room for old hubbers and new hubbers alike to share our thoughts on what's old and new, what's hot and what's not and use whatever words fancy or not, to captivate our readers, both young and old alike.
I set out thinking that writing on hubpages is going to be all about the money I could make. As the days have progressed into weeks money has ceased to be the predominant reason for my existence on hubpages. Now its all about interesting features I can hopefully produce with a string of interesting words and my passion for it.
Money matters, yes, but I have realised in my opinion that the passion for writing has to take precedence over the desire to make money from the hubs produced. Otherwise (again in my opinion) your dream of writing can be blown out like a candle in the wind.
In my opinion our ability to write is a powerful tool which should not be taken for granted nor abused. Its a beautiful tool which we can use to touch, change and inspire people's lives.
For everyone who has made a "pit stop" to read some or all of my hubs my humblest thanks. To my fellow hubbers who have made and will make a choice to follow me, I hope I am able to give you good reason to stay.
