Earning From The Ebay Affiliate Program

Updated on December 19, 2011

Ebay Affiliate Program

Ebay are considered the top auction site online today, but have you ever considered that the affiliate program at Ebay could be up there with the top affiliate programs that actually earn you money with a small amount of effort but long term commitment!!

I started this affiliate programwhen it first was introduced way back on Commission Junction and my expectations were very high of this earning program, particularly as it boasted that the top affiliates working this program were making in excess of thousands if not a million dollars a month!

The Quality Click Pricing model that was introduced awhile back is sort of like a pay per click model in that the closer you get to making or indeed actually securing a sale through your affiliate links then the more money you could potentially make. This Per click method was to replace and also get rid of the need for an outside Affiliate network and so Ebay could access all of the data for this new Quality click pricing model and distribute all payments in house.

Of the great tools you get on ebay the RSS feed tool is the best one to start using in feeds and anywhere that has them such as www.feedburner.com as you can pick a specific search category and produce a feed tailored to that type of search feed with your affiliate tracking code embedded in your feed.

If you make your content interesting enough and go with the most popular searches and items that are bought and sold on ebay you'll have people to show your auction feeds to and the best thing about that is they update all the time as new items are bidded on and old ones are took off.

Another tool is the link destination tool found on the ebay affiliate page, this is where you can turn any page on ebay into your own affiliate linked page, for example if you wanted to link to the home page of ebay you'd type http://www.ebay.com and then type in your commission junction ebay id in the next box to get the code to add a link on your site or blog for that specific page.

I myself was making money from a combination of email marketing and the RSS feeds and other forms of affiliate marketing through ebay, but unexpectedly I had my account terminated even though I had a higher than the average CPM and this was annoying as I had lots of sites set up to promote Ebay affiliate products, but later I applied again and got accepted and still to this day I'm an Ebay affiliate. So the lesson I learned was never rely on just one method of earning online instead you must rely on dozens of other methods that all combine and give you a decent return on your investment which is your time.

It's entirely up to you which of the many tools you use to promote the ebay auctions.

When it comes to promoting the Ebay Affiliate program just consider the possible niches for all the items on ebay, there are countless niche variations to profit from, all you have to do is get traffic to your site with all of your informative content surrounding your links and you have income earning potential.
