You got it 10,000 times?

If you are thinking this Hub is about getting punched, or winning the lottery, Lilly is sorry to disappoint you. This is simply about reaching a milestone of being read over 10,000 times.

I wrote this Hub as a fairly new Hubber. I had passed the cool phase of being a newbie. I no longer qualified for the Wannabe-Hub-Nugget-Awards. I was growing up in authorship, stretching my editorial wings, and becoming more serious. I began writing better content, and longer Hubs.

Being a type A personality, the Hub numbers are important to Lilly. Making the grade, and getting at least a high C 80, is important to her. She is more satisfied with an A, but those come by very hard work, determination, and a constant presence on HubPages. HubPages does not distribute grades, but measures by traffic, participation, involvement, and quality content .

When Lilly's Hub Score is 100, She feels like she got an A. It is hard work to keep a 100 score. Lilly used to be disappointed when the 100 would drop to 95 the very next day, often pledging to work harder, than what she earned with this Low A .

The Accolades are where the numbers tally up between effort, appreciation, readership, rating on Google™, this is a good indicator of revenue that may be generated from your Hubs .

Each time a Hub Writer passes a personal milestone, by publishing original and solid content, that others find interesting and gains readership, it becomes visible on the Accolades portion of HubPages.

If you write good quality, original and within Hub Terms of Use, you can track the time and effort put in, and as the Accolade numbers begin to climb, it is only natural that earnings will too rise.

In July of 2010, Lillygrillzit submitted her first Hub

July 08, 2010, I wrote and submitted my first Hub. The people I started following early on, were Hubbers with more longevity, and they all had at least 2 rows of Accolades. The Accolades are those medal/ribbon looking stars under the Profile image on the Profile Page. Many other Hubbers had 100's of Hubs.

Some Hubbers have been on at least 3 years. Hubbers before Lilly had answered over 50 Questions, asked over 100 questions! At the beginning, it seemed almost impossible to Lilly, to write 300 Hubs, or 100, or even 30.

The reason Lilly started following any particular Hubber was 1). they sent encouragement. When she was looking for information on how HubPages worked. These writers wrote good Hubs and direction. 2). Lilly would run across Hubs that she enjoyed, and would follow the writer. 3). She would read, How to ... hubs from Hubbers like Rebecca E, who writes in high volume, and has a LOT of Hubs for newbies and old-bees [sp] alike. If a Hubber is willing to read and learn, contribute, and have good manners, they will find a lot of support and care by the Administrators and other Hub Writers.

What have I got 10,000 times What have I got 10,000 times? My Hubs...Read!

Remember how it felt the first time you saw a baby take a first step, then loose their first tooth, then go to first grade? Since written Hubs feel like a part of us, like children sort of, this feels good to pass a milestone of 10,000 reads! Thank you Hubbers, HubPages and Followers.

Lilly hopes this encourages any new or longtime Hub Writers . The Best to you.

10,000 miles - :0) Mary Chapin Carpenter

Lilly's Hubs have been read 10,000 times

My Hubs have been read 10,000 Times - This may not mean much to some writers (Google wants writers to have 1 Million hits per day), but having reached another milestone in such a short time is a positive and powerful experience.

HubPages and the Hub system, has encouraged me as a writer, to push, to exceed my own expectations.

There are Hubbers who generate so much good written content daily , and still take time to reach out, read and comment on the Hubs of Newbies and others.

Lisa HW has had her Hubs read over 1,000,000 Times and she has been on HubPages over 3 Years.

One of the things that I like about what these Hubbers have to say, is that it takes Hard Work and Determination to make money writing on-line. Since writing on HubPages, I work very hard as a writer, and have surpassed goals. This is a good feeling, to be in the right place, at the right time.

If you care about the numbers , I understand. HubPages has given tools to know what is popular, what drives traffic, what good content is. The Karma and Score given, are important in a different way. There are many Hubs out there about Hub Score and Karma, by Jerrico Usher has written a comprehensive Hub on the Numbers rhythms of HubPages.

As of this update, Lillygrillzit's Hubs have had over 70,000 reads.

100,000, or 1,000,000,000 as the next Milestone?

Not surprising as you are one of the most interesting and gifted writers I know here on Hubpages. You are also a very genuine and loyal person and this is refreshing to see in an individual today! As always - I enjoyed your hub and especially your unique and most fascinating style.

A very well written article full of encouragement concerning using hub scores & hits as mile stones therefore congratulating yourself on your own efforts!

Too many folk do not consider the time or the inclination to big them self up for their personal goal activities but to become aware of ones own capabilities is vital for growth & success.

Keep up your good work. I enjoyed your philosophy. Dale

Thanks for sending me your message to get me to look! :) Wow! You made 10k, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm impressed that you've even scored 100 sometimes. You go girl! Sure is encouraging. You are inspiring to me with all your hubbing. I feel slow when I see you appearing all over Hubpages - LOL! (I'm one of those contemplative types, which takes time.) I am honored that you referred to my hubs and hope some find them helpful.

Hey Lady ~ Congrats! :) I know your feelings well. I've got another 1500 to go.

Funny, but i posted one story here on hubpages and left it there for three months. I was working in blogger at the time and my friend asked me how my hub project was coming along.

I was given the boost again and this time i took it. I have kept the other acct active but give hubpages my full attention now.

It's amazing what can be accomplished when commitment and hard work refines the 'Art' in us. It takes folks like yourself to prove the point.

Write On Lori! ~ peace ~ greg :]

I am so happy for you reaching that great milestone of 10,000 views. You are now on your way to 100,000 with the writing skills you have.

Everything you say is so true, if a Hubber simply writes interesting and quality content he/she will get the recognition they deserve for their hard work.

Keep up the great writes, I enjoy your hubs and I thank you for visiting mine from time to time. We all try to get around to read our friends as much and often as we can. peace and hugs

Barbara Kay thank you! In July when I found Hub Pages, was a rough time. I worked between 80 and 100 hours per week the first 6 weeks. While working a regular job, I still "write" every evening until 11:00 pm. I wake at 3:30 am, and work for a few hours.

There has been, "scribblings" stuffed down inside of me for many years. I am "Writing my Way Out" of my 'cave', poverty and debt. There are many words and characters waiting to come out.

HubPages and the Hubber Community is so great for providing the tools for writers hoping to gain an audience, and passive income. The Best!

Congratulations to Lilly. I read your incredible historical advocacy biography. Awesome Societal Do-Gooder! And, also someone like me who loves to see "100%" on their paper. I sent the Video link of Mary Chapin Carpenter 1000 Miles to my Good Friend a guitar player, composer and singer with a similar voice. Keep on truckin' here on Hubpages. Your ratings are awesome in just 3 months.

I'm not on Hubs as much because I run an entire website where I blog like crazy and maintain all the members. Be well and don't stay up all night writing (LOL) Hugs, Debby
