My first anniversary writing on HubPages, and making money

Updated on February 12, 2015

My First Anniversary on Hubpages

Allow me to take this opportunity to thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read my hub, My first anniversary writing on HubPages, and making money.

I must admit, at first my reason for writing and publishing articles here at HubPages. Simply earn extra money writing about things I know something about, and hope readers would read and think of value.

The thing that I found myself wondering about, before I started writing and publishing Hubs that would be successful, I felt I needed to get better acquainted with the ins and outs of the HP platform, I wanted to first get a few important things straight in my mind.

Therefore, with that in mind, I started reading in the forums and other well-written hubs on the subject. I soon learned being a successful hubber, involves many things, original high-quality content is paramount, keyword research important, and SEO is ever changing, simple stuff, right. After all, I have written articles and published elsewhere online, as an E zine Articles expert author, blogs, and let us not forget all the normal social media what if anything could be different at HubPages.

Benefits of becoming part of the HubPages Community

HubPages is a community, just like the neighborhood in which we all live. Ok, maybe as an online community HubPages is just a bit larger and diverse than the brick and mortar neighborhood we call home. At any rate, we all have the opportunity to reach out to our fellow Hubbers, with the understanding, that to know them, is to gain a better understanding of different points of view.

Opportunities abound, sharing little tid bits of insightful information with our HubPages neighbor, or simply ignore them all together and remain ignorant to their often, opposing points of view.

Thankfully does exist in the great big world in which we all live, and have the opportunity to learn many things from the diverse peoples that make up the HubPages community.

Personally, I discovered HubPages thanks to the former hubber katiem2 who at the time highly recommended I put the project I was piddling with on the back burner, and join the HubPages community. It is hard to believe it has been a year already, but it has.

I know this due to the good folks on the HubPages staff sending me their congratulatory email advising me of such. Thank you HubPages staff for the email, and everything you do to improve not only my experience, but also the entire online community.

The ease of assembling a professional looking HubPages article

I enjoy the ease of which the capsules enable me to assemble a hub. Text, photo, video, link, rss, news, Amazon, and eBay are easy to move and edit. Simply drag and drop, point and click, no need to write html, fool with css or and coding. Just select the template that works for your sense of style, add the appropriate capsules and add your original content in an easy to follow format. Oh, maybe I should remind you to follow the editorial guidelines to avoid the embarrassment of having a hub unpublished, or worse. Sometimes it is a bit tricky to put a hub in the best category; one person’s hillbilly joke is something all together different to the next person you know.

Sharing relevant content

Hubbers share relevant content, do you have a question, any question at all? Chances are someone has written a hub that contains the answer you need. If not, do your own key word researches, many Hubbers use the free Google Ad words keyword research tool to do this, when choosing topics to write relevant content for targeted keyword search terms. Need to know more about keyword research, I know you are going to love this part, simply type your search term into the hubpages search box, select hubs and click the search button. You will be amazed at all the helpful information you find in hubs written by experts in their respected fields. Its all about the community, the rising tide raises all ships you know.

Yes, you can make money with HubPages

Love it or hate it, my first anniversary with HubPages, learning how to make money writing online at HubPages. The only thing I hate about my experience is not getting started on HubPages sooner.

As for the HubPages community, learning center, and thought provoking forums, I love it. After all, learning the ins and outs of the HubPages platform, SEO, keyword research, and researching tips to writing better original high quality content, for my hubs, that increases my money making potential online.

Celebrating my first anniversary at HubPages for me is a great place to publish my articles on what I know and learn here in the community of truly gifted authors. Quite honestly, I believe it only gets better from here, and if you are not a member yet, sign up today, embrace the community, and your voice will get the recognition it deserves.

Reaching the 5-year HubPages milestone

Yes, it has been five years and I am still here!
