Help my Hubs, help me help yours!
Hub Score Insanity
Just a thought
One of the most frustrating things about Hubpages or any means by which you make your work available to others it getting anyone to read it. It is with this in mind that I have composed this piece. What you will find here is an exploration by means of putting this out there and asking the question do any of us want to help each other out?
That is not to say that those that choose not to help are in any way bad or wrong for doing so. Everyone of us has our own way of doing things that works for us, I am still trying to find the way that works best for me.
So here I am putting it all down on paper, excuse me I mean screen to see what comes of it. My hopes are not significant but we shall see what happens.
Can I help you?
If you browse my profile or other hubs you will I am new to hubpages, but after just a few short weeks I am hooked. I have read dozens if not hundreds of hubs and have been impressed with the overall quality of the majority. But I know like me there is thousands of hubbers whose hubs may not get seen by the audience they would hope for. I have given a lot of thought about how best I can improve upon this situation and get my hubs seen and get to see those hubs I have been otherwise missing.
So how can I help you out? How can you help me?
My suggestion is a simple one let us help each other by doing what we are doing anyway. Comment on this hub and tell me and others a little about yourself and what you write and I will follow you and hopefully others will too and over time I and they will read your hubs and share them with others and I hope of course you will do the same for me and for others. The biggest strength we all have is if we help each other out, but do I believe that?
Perhaps not, this is most likely fanciful thinking on my part, things are very rarely as simple as us all helping each other out and I know the vast majority will choose not to follow my suggestions as of course they have absolutely every right to do and there own reasons for doing so. The fact that something will likely not work has never been a good enough reason for not trying. I believe it was the great Albert Einstein that said "The definition of Insanity is trying to the same thing over and over and expecting a different result" I am paraphrasing there but the principle remains the same, but that does not suggest things are not worth trying once, does it?
Is it Cheating?
No, of course not!
We all want the same thing for our writing for people to read it! I hope in some small way this will help us build your reputations and to be selfish my own by sharing each others work. It is a simple, community minded and of course free way to promote the site and maybe discover some great writing and learn a few things. I want to get more readers and I suspect fellow writers that you do too.
Of course it is important that we do not under any circumstances encourage anyone to break any rules. Do not encourage people to click on adds to to dishonestly try to generate any revenue. What I hope to achieve is the sharing of work for the benefit of us all not to boost revenue by dishonest means as tempting as it may seem to some of us.
There is warnings!
As a kind comment brought to my attention there is a downside to following too many, you can potentially be penalized for doing so. Why I do not know, but the hub makes for very interesting reading. My Hub Score is 1. If like me you are keen to learn and improve then it is well worth checking out.
Will it work?
How well this does or does not work depends on all of us, if you see more followers as result of showing and sharing this hub and tell others to do the same then it may just work for us all. But why stop there, write your own hub and encourage others to do the same. Perhaps if lots of us put in a little effort we could all see a nice boost in our successes.
Of course the most important thing you can continue to do is keep writing great hubs and making them as interesting to the reader as possible, nothing we do here will be a substitute for a great read.
So why not! It costs nothing to try!
I hope this hub finds it's way to many readers and in turn I hope it leads me to many new and exciting hubs. Thank you for reading and please feel free to leave comments, all are welcome be they negative or positive. I don't know what is wrong with me, I think I have started to crave feedback. Just kidding!
To finish I will use another Albert Einstein quotation - "It's not that I'm so smart is's just that I stay with problems longer"
