How To Increase Hub Earnings With Comments

Updated on February 27, 2011

If your an ambitious hubber like me, it may seem like your adsense pennies are not trickling in fast enough. Hubpages, in my experiences is by far the best site for a freelance writer to gain exposure, and earn some cash in the process. I know it may take a while to see some serious monetary progress, so why don't we speed up the process?

Your hub may be great, but how will it stay fresh for months and years to come? It probably won't, unless people continue to talk about it. If you wrote a hub titled "How To Get Tickets To The 2006 Super Bowl", well that article is probably dead now; but it doesn't have to be. When someone comments on your hub it's as if they threw some fertilizer on it and asked you to water it back to life.

At least that's how the search engines will look at it. A single comment has the potential of stirring up an endless debate, which will add content and quality to your hub. Here's what you'll need to do to revive your hub, and increase it's earnings with comments:

  • Respond to comments. Every time you respond to a comment that was left on your hub, you are opening the door for more comments, and refreshing your hubs expiration date so to speak.
  • Comment on another hubbers hub. You'd be surprised at the turn around ratio here. Most hubbers will see that you left a comment on their hub, and show their appreciation by shooting one right back at you on one of your hubs.
  • Leave only quality comments. If your gonna leave a generic comment such as "great hub" or "very interesting", you may as well slap the author in his/her face. Take the time to actually read the hub (it's only a page!) and comment truthfully. If you don't like what they wrote tell them. I'm sure that most hubbers will welcome the criticism in hope of improving.

Believe me, a simple comment can go a long way. It will only take you a few minutes of time to read a hub, and a few taps on the keyboard to leave a comment. You'll never know how much it could increase your earnings if you don't try. I guess I don't have to tell you how much I value your feedback, so please leave a comment below! Good Luck, and I look forward to reading your next great Hub!
