How To use Bukisa To Promote Your Hubpages

Updated on April 4, 2009

Promoting your Hubpages articles is even more important than writing them. Promoting Hubpages is what is going to bring traffic back to your hubs and get the AdSense clicks you are looking for. Bukisa is a newer web2.0 platform. It's kinda of like Hubpages in that it is a writing site that you can make money from. But the differences from there when it comes to earning money are strong.

Bukisa pays per impression. Right now its at 3.42. That means for every 1000 impressions, you earn $3.42. Each month that number may change depending on Bukisa's eCPM. Not really very good if you really take a look at what your hubpages eCPM is. Mine for the past 5 months is around $7.75. I would not use Bukisa soley to create articles for payment. I will however use it for free backlinks.

Hubpages Vs. Bukisa

Hubpages does not pay you to write. They offer a platform and together Hubpages and the offers share the advertising impressions of adsense, amazon, and ebay. Hubpages provides the site to write on, the hubpages author provides to content. Together, they earn. Hubpages authors get 60% of the advertising impression, hubpages gets 40%. This method is such a promising platform because hubpages doesn't have to worry about losing money. They make money with their authors. There is no promise of any earnings. If the author wants it, they have to work for it.

Bukisa however doesn't work this way. Bukisa pays per impressions. This means that driving traffic, targeted or not is what pays authors. Long term, this is not a good strategy. used the same kind of payout platform in the beginning and they had to switch from it because they were losing money on poor content. Is Bukisa doomed for the same fate, who knows. But, as of right now Bukisa is allowing black hat spammers to post copied content at alarming rates. They are not filtering the content and the abuse will grow. Because the earning system is based on what the eCPM (earnings per 1k impressions) the reality is, over time and with abuse, the amount they pay may drastically decrease.

Hubpages WITH Bukisa

Using Bukisa solely for earning.. Not a good long term strategy. Using bukisa to acquire back links and promote your hubpages articles.. Good strategy. The common backlink methods are eventually going to fizzle out as search engines are programmed to be even smarter. Eventually the best backlinks are going to be the ones laced in the content. Not just comments, not just randomly placed links. Backlinks that are promoted by content are going to be a key player.. eventually. So use Bukisa to get a head start. Epinons may have lost their major player authors, but the site still exists and so do the backlinks created from it. Use Bukisa the same way.

How To Use Bukisa To Promote Hubpages

Here is how to use Bukisa to promote hubpages. Take one of your popular hubpages. Using your long tail keyword, write a Bukisa article that focuses on that long tail keyword. Bukisa only requires 250 words. That is a perfect amount to paraphrase your hubpages, blog post, or any other content you want to promote.

  • Get your keyword in the title, the summary, the article body and the keyword list.
  • Link back to your hubpages article, blog post ect, using the keyword in the article body as the anchor text.
  • Select Creative Commons-attribution-no derivative Works 3.0 Unported
  • Publish. Rinse. Repeat

Select Creative Commons-attribution-no derivative Works 3.0 Unported

Why did you select Creative Commons-attribution-no derivative Works 3.0 Unported in the licence and agreement box?

Because Bukisa wants to work similar to a ezine articles type site. They give the option for the author to share their work. Selecting Creative Commons-attribution-no derivative Works 3.0 Unported tells the vistior that this article can be borrowed and posted elsewhere, but only if the article is kept completely in tact, including links.

The reason for this is because if someone borrows your article and posts it in tact, you just got free backlinks.

If your not comfortable with this, you can select to not share the article, but why not. The point in writing it was to get free backlinks, why not let others do the work for you and give you even more backlinks.

Creating Bukisa Backlinks

Don't forget to create backlinks to your Bukisa pages. Promoting these pages with your hubpages is important. Your basically telling the search engine that Bukisa article A is important. Bukisa article A promotes Hubpages article A. Search engine thinks that if Bukisa article A likes Hubpages Article A, then Search engine likes Hubpages article A. Confusing? Just promote everything you write.

Hi, as I was trying to create a Bukisa account it asked about Affiliate settings. I have been having problems with GoogleAdsense, so I have to resort to registering with CHITIKA instead. Chitika is asking for a website but I'm not sure of what I have to put there. I don't have a separate blog besides the ones here in Hubpages.Do I have to have a separate blog besides Hubpages to complete the Chitika registration? Thanks!:)

Thanks for the comments Iphigenia and triplet mom =)

You don't have to use Bukisa to earn money. Even using it just as a source for quality backlinks is a good way to promote hubpages.

Hi sunstreaks - your use of Burkisa sounds great - so I visited the site. However, they only have a Paypal paying option and I have a pathological hatred of all things paypal (thieves, bullies and sociopaths !) - Other wise i would have given Burkisa a go.
