How is your traffic?

Updated on September 22, 2010

You built a four lane road where's the traffic?

No traffic jams here.
No traffic jams here.

Are your hubs a little like mine?

That is do they get low traffic?

I know that the majority of the people here don't have a lot of traffic. How do I know?

Its on your accolades. Sorry to say but the world can see There are an awful lot of people with under 10,000 total views.

Hey I am not laughing at you. I have only 3500 views and I have been on Hubpages for over 2 years. I am starting from a bottom level to see what works and what doesn't as far as building traffic on HP. I know many of you hear a lot from ultra popular hubbers who get 10's of thousands of views per day. I am more interested in what really works for most of us average writers.

Now the subject material that I publish most often is poetry and creative writing. I am doing some math hubs and I have also done some financial hubs. This material is not view friendly either on HP or on the search engines.

The proof is in the pudding.

You have heard people say that I have over 100 page views (Some have many more) on one hub in a day. I have never had over 100 pages views on all my hubs together in a week.

No big deal. I am average or maybe a little bit below average.

The question is what produces traffic quality or quantity?

I think it is a little of both. I am going to try to do simply 20 to 30 hubs per month. I am also going to try to see what happens. So without a lot of back linking or keyword research what will this produce? We shall see.

In the future I am going to work on back links and also keywords but I don't know how yet. I will teach myself and read hubs and find out. This will be a bottom up approach to building our traffic and we will be able to debunk what is fact and what is fallacy.

Good luck everyone.

And they say.................

Build it and they will come. We will certainly see if this holds true.
