How to generate more income on HubPages through its affiliates

Updated on March 27, 2015

We should really work hard in order to earn monetization with our articles on HubPages. Affiliates that are helping achieve our goals are eBay, Amazon and Google AdSense, aside from the new HubPages Ad Program.

Affiliates of this online writing site are updating its program, aside from referrals of products. To understand how it works, let us review the policies and programs of each affiliate and maximize its earning potential.

Some hubbers claim to earn more than $1,000 dollars monthly. That's what I've read at the live feed of this site. My own experience may not even live up to that bracket or earning status where I'll just be expecting my third payout on September, since my inclusion at this writing community way back September 2009.

So, aside from hubbing or submitting articles everyday, let's take a deeper look as to why others are making this site as source of passive income.

Google Panda 2.2 Why Professional Seo is so Important c/o seolasvegas

Google AdSense and its Panda ranking algorithm

Denial was the first that I encountered with Google AdSense. This affiliate cautioned me to review my hubs so that it may not be rated as substandard or inferior. It's not only expounding on a simple facts, but a hub should also abide with the policies of this monetizing account.

Google's advertising network AdSense is responsible in placing text ads to HubPages and other non-Google sites. HP gives 60% of the ad revenue to each unique user.

AdSense products are:

  • AdSense for Content
  • AdSense for Domain
  • AdSense for Search
  • AdSense for Mobile Content
  • AdSense for Feeds

For each AdSense product, you can customize the titles of your hubs or your blog site apart from HubPages. New custom channels for each hub will breakdown and saturate search results; thereby competing with other writers who have similar titles.

If you're just starting adding customized titles of your hubs on each product, you can prioritize the latest, the hottest, the best of your hubs and a lot more. I am concentrating on Search because online users usually write phrases or exact words where my hubs can surface at the first page of the results. More often than not, they'll open your article or even linger on it, if it has all the details they want to know.

Meanwhile, an update was made last February, 2011. It is called Google's Panda ranking algorithm that can detect original contents from copied and modified ones

What the HubPages CEO Paul Edmonson did in order to combat the sudden plunking of traffic at the site. He offered every user free subdomain in order to optimize small sites or accounts of registered hubbers. The strategy is similar to other publishing sites that have subdomains like Wordpress, Tumblr and Blogger (blogspot of Google).

Meanwhile, YouTube which is also affiliated with Google doesn't require subdomain.

Once you opened a Google Account, your username and password will also apply in your AdSense, YouTube, Blogger and Analytics accounts.

eBay and Amazon

eBay, the world's largest auction and selling site encourages online users to participate in its activities. Opportunities, like auctioning, selling or even becoming an agent are out in the box.

Activating your eBay account with HubPages is not as easy as you may think. You have to get an eBay sub-domain that you should activate.

Like Amazon, you can earn from a third party referral. The clicks that have been accumulated on the products you've linked on your hubs will be converted into cash.

These two online shipping sites are in competition with each other. It's up to us, hubbers to recommend related items with your hubs that will aid for the promotion of such items, whether it's a book, CD or DVD movies, household items or memorabilia.

Updating your online shopping sites will include your shopping or wish list, your personal recommendation and your acquired or sold items. You can promote your personalized online stores, through HubPages, your blog site and social media (Facebook,Twitter, Tumblr, Orkut, MySpace or even Tagged).

There's a lot of opportunities that will be opened for you, once you activate your account on this two online shopping sites. You can publish you e-books at Amazon, be an auctioneer at eBay and lots of options that will come your way.

Webinars, etc.

There are webinars that are conducted by Google AdSense in order to know the basics on how all the terminologies in earning online work.

You can subscribe to it, even if you miss one segment or session. Your e-mail account will be updated from time to time regarding about the function of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Google Adwords and more.

You may say, having an affiliate is a lot of ticks and tacks or punches on your computer's keyboard. Yes, I will agree with you. It's so tiring. With just a wrong click, you may end up receiving 'denial advisory' from the affiliate.

But if you really want to customize your earnings on this site, you must be updated with all the goings-on in this virtual writing community.

Remember: It's a No-No to click your own Google ads or even click you own eBay and Amazon referrals. Making a wrong click may even risk your hub of being rejected or deleted.
